One for DWS f4om the Berwick FB page £ 10 SPEEDWAY & KIDS GO FREE! In association with our sponsors we are proud to announce that the next match at Shielfield Park Stadium vs Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway on Saturday the 15th of June will be £10 entry for both adults and concessions and kids will attend free! We hope to entice new and old fans to come along and enjoy the Saturday night Shielfield Park experience and we want you to help us spread the word. We will also be continuing our offer of a free drink with every programme purchase. Fathers Day falls on Sunday the 16th of June so this is a great opportunity to treat those Dads out there that deserve a night out and a drink! Please feel free to Like, Share, Comment and spread the word on this fantastic promotion.
It'll be interesting to see how this works out, not so much on the night, but more in the following weeks. A free drink with every programme seems an overly generous offer. Interestingly it is described as "continuing" so it's not a one off. Hats off to the Berwick promotion for at least trying something. I hope it's successful.

Just seen on FIM site that restaging would be Sunday at 2. Rain still forecast but less heavy than Saturday. I'd much rather some decent racing on the Sunday than boring follow the leader and lots of crashes on a total bog. Balance of probability I'm thinking it'll be Sunday.

The FIM have extensive documentation for each meeting so I'd expect there are contingencies for both a Saturday and Sunday rain off. Didn't Berwick restage an FIM event on a Tuesday - think it messed us up too but might be wrong about that. Similarly there must be a policy on refunds should they be necessary. Don't know why some seem upset that fans who would be unable to make Sunday are asking about this. Seems a reasonable question in the prevailing circumstances.

Saturday afternoon looks a bit on the wet side to say the least but problem will be the state of the track. Wonder how many of the riders have ridden on porridge. Never mind the big screen, it was a retractable roof we should have got. Here's hoping forecasters are off the mark but I shall still be watching Judith Ralston ( mmmmm) VERY closely.

Connor Bailey signs for Belle Vue Colts which should help him settle with more laps, more experience and so forth.

So, all 3 rounds to date won by Glasgow / ex Glasgow riders. If Charles can pull a minor miracle tomorrow ..... Sounds feasible - until you look at the line up!!! A very strong and experienced line up.

Do we still own Anders Thomsen's registration? With our Friday reace day no longer interfering with Poland he could be a good option in the future.

Anders Thomsen IIRC couldn't gate for toffee but was very fast and brave once he got going. Didn't he chuck it because he couldn't afford to make travelling financially viable?

Always felt on reliable equipment he was swift but did he not have better bikes back in Denmark. Anyway can anyone answer MDs question. Do we own his contract or has it a time limit. I honestly dont think we will see him back in what he called Rainland.

As I recall, he was excellent when there was some dirt on the track. I think he was doing really well in the European Championship a couple of years ago until he sustained a nasty injury. I doubt that he would be interested in Championship level speedway.

Couldn't help wondering about Sam Norris. Wakened this morning to read dreadful news that he is on life support with serious brain injuries. Hope and pray for his recovery.
