Hi All
My e-mail to the moderators on Chatzone
Please reconsider your removal of my post about upcoming STARs night. This event is organised by a group of Glasgow supporters but is open to ALL speedway fans to attend. At past STARs events many Edinburgh fans (including a director of Edinburgh speedway and Edinburgh riders) have been present, therefore this is why I am posting event details on Chatzone.
Moderator's reply
Please do not use the Chatzone as an advertising tool for Glasgow events.

Sad. Sad. Scottish speedway is hardly burgeoning and with attitudes like that it is little wonder.

May I hazard a guess that the Chatzone is administered by people of an Edinburgh based disposition? If I am correct in that assumption, then in backing up Jim's comments I can only say that I think Edinburgh are in the position that they are going to need every bit of help and support that they can get within the next 12 months, in which case they may find themselves somewhat short of what they need. Sometimes think they have more blinkers than you'd find in the stables at Ascot!

At past STARs events many Edinburgh fans (including a director of Edinburgh speedway and Edinburgh riders) have been present, therefore this is why I am posting event details on Chatzone. Moderator's reply Please do not use the Chatzone as an advertising tool for Glasgow events. This is really interesting!! Firstly, you're admitting you've posted on the Chatzone? How can you when you're banned? Secondly, You quote you addressed the moderators on the Chatzone. There are 5 Moderators on the Chatzone, yet only 1 of the Moderation team has been in contact with you... Thirdly, I've seen and have copies of all correspondence that were sent to a new poster on the Chatzone "onefromthewest" and had replies to, and none of the PM's sent (not an e-mail as you wrote) describe the one line reply you've written in your post. The correspondence goes into more detail as to why the post was removed - reasons that all 5 of the moderation team are in agreement with. The reply you wrote, was the one that was written on the chatzone for all to see prior to the topic being removed. I'd suggest that people in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones. I'm not going to get into a slanging match with the rest of the posters who obviously only read one side of the story and when the facts from the one side are biased, unfair and frankly not true, then I can understand everyone's reaction. However, in certain peoples cases, irrespective of whether both sides of the story is heard, the outcome is the same as the sheer hatred of anything to do with Edinburgh is clear and quite frankly, it's why very few from the East post on ET - whether it's to advertise (though it's something we never do irrespective of whom it'd benefit), join in the banter or to comment on anything to do with Glasgow. Can I ask, that at least have the decency to quote the correct information instead of the one sided story to make yourself look like you're being victimised - when in fact, the whole story would be justified and understandable.

Hopefully the point of the post got through to most that when repeating a difference of opinion on here, at least post the truth or all of the conversation to allow those who can make a relatively unbiased judgment, make it knowing all of the facts. Of course, making judgments rules some posters out!!!

KevPat
Yes the posting was made by my brother as I am banned from the Chatzone for
"You have been banned from the Chatzone for cross posting a link on which you had tried to stir up trouble"
The posting on CZ was made on behalf of the STARs committee. So can you tell me/us why the posting was removed from CZ when the the STARS nights are open to all speedway fans and Edinburgh as well as Berwick fans travel to them. The event is not running against any events in Edinburgh and it is not a slagging match it is just a question.
You say "Can I ask, that at least have the decency to quote the correct information instead of the one sided story to make yourself look like you're being victimised - when in fact, the whole story would be justified and understandable" I have never been victimised my life so please explain the whole story to me/us.

In light of developments over the last two days with regard to what some are calling “The Chatzone Gate Affair” I feel that as Chair of the STARs committee I need to clarify my position on the matter. In this age of electronic mail sometimes words are lost in the Cut and Paste Triangle and sometimes people are not able to see the larger community that we all move in. Sometimes individuals have to step up to the plate and take it on the chin therefore I totally understand the actions of our director of communications with his statement below. www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jan/21/andy-coulson-phone-hacking-statement#block-10Any way back on topic 5 weeks to go and our guests are looking forward to the event and who knows maybe the fans at Hampden will be thr first to know what is happening in the EL in 2011
