Interesting to see Steve Lawson wearing the number 4 racejacket in this Ian Wilson picture on the John Somerville website: www.skidmarks1928.com/p/john-somerville-collection/29419358804The meeting was the 1981 home match against Canterbury, when Steve was moved down the order to allow him time to recover from his Silver Helmet races. Although Steve wore the number 1 jacket in virtually every meeting in the stripes, I believe he actually wore every other number from 2 to 7 at least once as well. I'm only thinking about proper full team meetings, not four team tournaments and the likes. Anyone want to have a go at identifying those fixtures? As a follow up, I can think of a few other riders that also appeared in all seven jackets. Any nominations for that particular list? Bonus points for anyone that also managed to wear number 8.

Willie Templeton perhaps. He rode at 5 when Charlie Monk was briefly at six in May 66. Probably Shane Bowes too.

Five for SL I can think of without checking anything...
1. Goes without saying. 2. Exeter 1990 on the night he was 'dropped'. 3. Struggling with this one, 1991 or 1992 perhaps? 4. As Canterbury 81 above. 5. At Arena Essex KOC Final 1991. 6. 1990 after his low average took effect. 7. Rode as a guest in a couple of challenges in 1974 but can't think of others.
Other candidates? Jimmy Mac, Bobby Beaton, Charlie McKinna?
Could there be a 1-9 as well? Stewart McDonald maybe?

I believe he actually rode at number 3 in the Arena Cup Final, rather than 5. Charlie is a definite as is brother Martin. Not sure if Kenny ever rode at number 1.

Dont think Kenny ever rode at number six in an official meeting. Maury Mattingley managed all numbers otber than five which was Charlie Monk's "staple" during the White City seasons. While Charlie McKinna may have had the full set, I doubt Martin did. Dont think he ever wore one.

1964 Bruce Ovenden rode at 3,4, 5, 6 and the following year he completed the set by appearing at 1, 2 and 7.

Martin rode at number one at Exeter in 1989. Super Steve was injured and rider replacements cancelled.
Mick Powell and James Grieves are two more to have done it.

Charlie McKinna was our number one at home to Exeter and Arena Essex in 1990. Kenny rode at six in one of the National Trophy 3 Team events at the end of that year.

Charlie had also been at number one in his first spell with the club. He was number one at Canterbury in 1981, which was the same night that Super Steve wore the number 5 jacket. Again that was due to Silver Helmet races preceding the main meeting.
Kenny started the 1980 season at number 6.

All I could mind about the KOC at Arena was Steve and Shane swapped places - convinced we'd get hammered I gave the match a miss to go on a date Kenny's full debut in the 1-7 (actual debut was at #8) was at #6, against Edinburgh 23/09/1979. Another possible one for the 1-7 list - Brian Collins?

Another possible one for the 1-7 list - Brian Collins? Can't find any meetings in which Pogo rode at either 2 or 6. He rode a single meeting at number 4.
