As for track Grading ? Danny i think it is, always seems to grade where nobody goes ? why is he not grading the inside where MOST of the racing was done today. It is indeed Danny that does the track grading, I am not a track expert by any means, but I have been helping out a fair bit this year, and I would take a guess at the riders preferring it slick on the inside, and the section they turn in on, to let them get the bikes sideways easier, and have the dirt to the middle -> outside for better grip coming round the boards to they can keep it wound on. I think its a similar situation when it comes to watering its usually the middle -> outside on the bends thats watered, to give more grip. I'm sure there are others on the board that can confirm or deny these, lol.

I thought it was just me that thought that and a lack of knowledge on my part! I also wonder why the track staff seem to ignore the line on entry to 1 and 3 when spreading the shale from the outside and concentrate on the middle and end sections of the bends. Please do not think this is criticism or being unappreciative in case anyone feels it is and wishes to respond, I'm genuinely curious.

'The Raj' rode much better than his points suggest, but what on earth was Theo doin in heat 8, that was a crazy move. Christian rode well apart from that one heat, he is impressing me so far. From where I was standing on the third bend it looked like Theo was building up speed lap by lap and simply couldn't turn the bike sharp enough when the move with The Raj happened. Christian's one blob came when he was in the dreaded gate one. For someone who's just come back from serious injury IMHO he is doing a great job and could be a real ace in the pack this year.

However, on a brighter note, the outside is defo there to be used and i think the track does have alot of good points the biggest one being as i said the outside is definitely there to be used if you have the nerve/speed to use it. May be a few of the boys will try it now that Joe showed them in heat 15 that it can be done!!

Riders prefer it slick going in with the grip coming out, hence watering on 2 & 4.

Just in from a long, enjoyable day! First of all I'd like to send my best wishes to both Nick Morris and Richie Worrall, looked quite nasty. Hopefully there's no long term injuries and their both riding asap. Ultimately I'm delighted with another solid win. Joe Screen as usual just absolutely terrific, he makes it look so easy. Josh put in a solid performance, he's got to be aiming for consistency throughout the season. Also, a special mention to Christian Henry for bringing home a decent tally of points. The guy has missed a lot of speedway recently after enduring some horrific injuries. What I will say though is that if he doesn't make the gate and is last coming out of bend 2 then you might as well score 0 on your programme right there and then. His confidence should be at a decent level so hopefully we see another good showing from him tonight. Now to the negatives.. Sorry for bringing this up again but I feel it's the one thing that's holding the track back from being excellent. Uploaded with ImageShack.usI took a picture today as it really was astounding how square the boards are at bend 3, must be close to being right angled. I'm aware the track is still work in progress but does anyone know if this area is planning to be fixed in the near future? I believe the riders approach this bend with copious amounts of caution. Again, this is the only thing I feel is holding the track back from being an excellent track. Theo Pijper, deary me. I think shambolic is the best word to describe what happened in heat 8. He couldn't of blocked Raj any better if he tried. What was he thinking? Just a criminally poor error which thankfully didn't cost us in the end. Needs to raise it for tonight. Concern is staring to kick in over James Grieves. He was slow last year and even with a new bike nothing has changed thus far. What's going on?

thought it was a fairly decent meeting as was said joe and josh were very good and lead from the front both had a go on the outside and looked awesome out there very hairum scareum but brilliant to watch , theo didnt look to comfortable today at all Christian looked very good and is gating well what we have to remember is that he is coming back from a very serious injury so it will take a while for the confidence to build up he is finding it easy when in front but will take time for him to put it on the edge to come from the back give him time and i think we will be rewarded with his efforts , james im not sure if its power or not getting dialed into the track just yet may take a couple of away meetings to get himself sorted out then use that form on ashfield , nick looked to have found a line to go past worrel only for worrel to fall right in front of him and a nast crash ensued putting both out off the meeting but thankfully both looked better as the meeting closed raj looked ok apart frm shedding 2 chains but looks to have taken care of that problem as i seen him with a chain guide so hopefully that should stop that problem , the delays in the meeting didnt help but with only 1 doctor /paramedic if they have to leave the track then it stops the racing till they are back on the center green mabe its time to hire 2 then the meetings could still run as one could still be on the center green to allow the meeting to continue ,,,, as for track grading danny had his work cut out as the track had went very patchy and the outside was very deep in places sit it needed smoothed out to allow the riders to race there danny works with the riders and if they think the outside needs graded then thats where he will go the inside was ok so they didnt want it touched only the outside its still very erly days on the track as it settles more the racing will get better witch can only bode well for the place as there has been some cracking races there already on a final note what about robbo in heat 15 right out in the dirt on the 1st and 2nd bends and on the back wheel as robbo said he sh** himself but what a buzz says it all really don't it

that pic you posted nat shows where the football pitch will be when modified , we cant move that inwards unfortunately that was the deal that they would get more ground to widen the pitch and if you look that is exactly where the corner will go , we may have ti live with it we would love to be able to cut into it but cant that is the bottom line , only thing that could be done is to move the inside out a bit after that point to round it off ,,,,,, but all is not lost what if the inside boards were removed from that part off the track to be replaced with a chalk line now i wouldnt condone the riders putting their front wheel across the white line but it is legal as long as their back wheel dont cross it then they wont get excluded ,,,,,, might be the answer

Hi Davie thanks for the 'view from the pits' not surprised that Robson required new kegs! I am sure Screenie was similar.
I like the sound of the chalk line just a shame that the football are grabbing so much of the hard one space but I guess that was the only way that the deal could be done.
