There is massive potential in this side, with no riders on daft assessed averages. There of course is risk in 3 or 4 of the signings but with a bit of luck that risk could pay off big time. A massive well done to the promotion for getting this team together, i had thought of 5 of the team but Christian and Theo have come out of nowhere but it's a welcome surprise. There already looks to be a real balance to the side even if the riders were just to keep their averages but i can see a few who might just recapture former glories.
How i see it...
Joe Screen 8.84 - Should be an inspirational spearhead for the team, bags of experience and on an average he should easily keep. With joe helping out with the new track, you can bet he is going to be the leagues top entertainer
Josh Grajczonek 7.10 - This is the season where he has to go out and challenge for the number 1 race jacket, get those pesky trick tracks sussed and he might just do it.
Jimmy Grieves 6.69 - Back to the stripes on an average lowered by injury and poor machinery, fully fit and back on good machinery we could have a steal on our hands.
Christian Henry 5.21 - I did not see this one coming at all but i'm very pleased indeed, before his injury he was flying and his machinery looked mint.
Theo Pijper 4.90 - Another guy i'd forgotten about, if he's focussed on British speedway this year we could be on to a real winner on that average.
Michal Rajkowski 4.88 - YUSSS!!! Two years too late but glasgow sign the wildest most exciting style on a speedway bike. Should have an absolute blast at reserve and i cannot wait to see him on the new track.
Nick Morris 4.44 - Came in last season and exceeded expectation straight away, a bit wild and maybe not the quickest yet but some of his throttle control for a 16 year old was awesome. Went through something of a lull at the end of the season but came out on Grajczoneks bike in one heat and was flying again. I think he could be a real star this season and really looking forward to seeing him progress.
It has also been brought to my attention that most of the riders are local with only Joe and Christian staying south of the border which should help cut costs on travelling.

Probably the most solid looking 1 to 7 the current promotion have ever assembled. The key to a successful season is to have two decent reserves at any one time and that line up should ensure that happens. Fair play to them for resisting the temptation of the two big hitters again.
I agree with all of what Poncho has said above.
Grievesy was a no brainer on that CMA and a fully fit James with no outside distractions on his mind, like his testimonial, will add a point ot two to that average nae bother ;D
Looking forward to watching the Raj on a weekly basis on what will hopefully be a racers track ;D
Wee Nick will go from strength to strength next season and starting at reserve is a bonus. I was a bit unsure of the promotions wisdom in introducing him as soon as he turned 16 last season, but I was happy to be proved wrong and they will reap the benefits in 2011 ;D
2011 could well be Josh's last in PL, as he is sure to be eyeing up the EL the following year. But to move up he really needs to be up at the top end of the PL averages and therefore he should be pushing for a nine plus average and like Ponco says chalenging for the number one race jacket ;D
Obviously the promotion are taking a huge gamble on both Henry and Pijper, but they are proven PL scorers and capable of beating any PL rider anywhere. With Christian a lot will depend on how fit he is, as that was a pretty serious arm injury he copped. Although I am sure he wouldnt be coming back if he didnt feel he was ready and if fit he can add to his average. I assume Theo has given up on his overseas commitments. He is a talented motorcyclist and a fully commited and hungry Theo Pijper has the potential to increase his CMA the most out of the whole line up, he could easily add three points to that CMA if the desire is there ;D
Dont need to say anything about Shaggy ;D
Have to say MJFC is really looking forward to March. For the first time in ma puff I fell out of love with speedway at the tail end of last season and couldnt even get myself up for the last few meetings. But all this talk of a new race track and what is undoubtedly a line up of racers has whetted the appetite and rekindled my enthusiasm once again. The promotion have taken a lot of stick in the past, some justified and some not. But well done to them for taking things on board with regards to the track and line ups ;D

Nice one. Josh, Joe, James & Nick we all know can do the business. Raj at reserve will be awesome. Not sure about when he shunts up, but he should more or less maintain whatever average he attains in the first part of the season. Henry is something of a mystery, but, if for example, he dropped to reserve, he'd be more than capable of kicking back again. Pjiper could be the key to things. Very experienced and, from what I know, will be based here. Also, twice world longtrack champion, which is pretty cool

Once you get over the initial shock you start to think about the massive potential in this team.
Joe Screen It would appear Ashfield is currently being restructured to a track which is right up Screeny's street. who would argue he could add nearly a point to his starting average.
Josh Grajczonek Certainly needs to be pushing Joe for the number 1 race jacket for his own personal goals. if he reaches an 8.00 then it will be very good for us, needs more consistency next season & be a dominant force around the new Ashfield shale.
James Grieves Grievesy will do what grievesy does heid doon erse up. he'll forget all about 2010 like it never existed, another who could add a point or more to his average.
The Raj Starting at reserve is a big bonus for him & us. averaged 6.33 for Edinburgh from second string mostly so who would bet against a similar average for us?
Nick Morris Not much needs said does it young lad with lots of potential. Not even going to estimate what he'll do next season, he'll still only be 16 when he starts next season, still has plenty of time ahead of him to make it big. Big big bonus to our team.
Christian Henry His names been mentioned a couple of times, to be honest I thought he'd given up after his injury. on an attractive average. had a good 2 & bit seasons with Newcastle before injury, averaged sort of 7 in 2 of them but 8.21 in 2007. 2 1/2 seasons missed through injury though so who knows. Doesn't really have any pressure on him from the start so long as he scores a few there's another 6 riders capable of banging in big points.
Theo Pijper This was a real curve ball, couple decent seasons at Edinburgh near 8 point averages. One bad one at that ill fated season with Mildenhall where the 4.90 average comes from. potentially get that over 6.00 & if he's really committed then who knows could be over 7.00
Every single rider in that team has the potential to increase substantially if it goes right for them, I suspect we have a great chance of success next season.
Roll on 2011

Improved track, improved team, now lets get the presentation improved. We also need to have a proper second half, with organized races with rider's names being announced and bring on our own riders.

When i first saw Theo's name i thought Longtrack and a Saturday or Sunday but the season hasn't started yet so we'll see. The rest of the side including Christian looks solid, the most solid side i 've saw in my 4 seasons of supporting the Tigers. I'll echo what others have said and say.......Roll on 2011
