The FIM have announced the provisional dates for the 2012 World Under 21 Final. Following the success of last years u21 in the GP format, l (i.e 5-6 rounds to decide the winner), the final two rounds of the 2011 series will take place at Bahia Blanca in Argentina! A step out of the norm, I think you will agree! But well done to all involved for even provisionally choosing a country like Argentina to stage the final two rounds of such a big event. The Argies are passionate about their Speedway, as we know only too well with Emiliano Sanchez first riding for Glasgow when he came over to these shores. Although there havent been any real break throughs into the international scene since then, they have a had a few riders who have threatened to break through, like Lisandro Husman. Video of Bahia Blanca hereIt looks like a cracking wee set up they have got down there, hopefully staging such an event will inspire some kids to take the sport on, and hopefully we will see a new batch of Sanchez's coming through the world scene!

Is this 2011 or 2012 because I thought the final leg of the under 21 series this year was in Gniezno after the Gorzow GP?

Sorry but I don't share the enthusiasm for this - in fact its a crackpot idea. How much is it going to cost? You hear about riders being badly out of pocket for rounds in Europe - so will they need a mortgage to take part? Presumably it will be after the European season has ended, so for Aussies it is almost on their road home - almost!!
