the fence looks quite high, think i may have to find a new viewing spot One of the drawbacks of having such an awesome track , because the track will be closer to the fans and solid structures, the fence needs to be made much higher. However, Ashfield will continue to provide one of the best viewing in the country imo. Not far behind the backstraight and 3rd bend of Somerset!

the fence looks quite high, think i may have to find a new viewing spot If I remember right, on the straights the fence is 5ft, the bends 6ft and in front of the bar area is 8ft. No-one will be allowed in front of the bar during races so you don't have to worry about seeing over the 8ft fence . On the back straight, the 2m zone comes up to just below the second step in front of the existing crush barriers (you can just about see the steps in the 4th photo of the newest gallery), however it maybe the case that at the start of the season the zone will be temporarily extended to the crush barriers to easily delineate the area until a proper fence has been installed, as the new fence's posts need to be core drilled into the steps which is a real pain, as evidenced by the new back straight poles which were also cored, and if I remember right killed at least 1 drill and a jackhammer. The 2m line on the back straight is in line with the boundary of the mobile phone mast for those that know that area of the stadium, give or take a slim walkway for pits access (although that I am not certain of). The same situation will also apply on the 1st bend, where the crush barriers will act as the 2m boundary, the hill behind these (where the advert board is) has been dug away somewhat to allow more standing room. Also a section of the hill as the entrance to the 3rd bend (in front of the gray building) has also been dug out, however I think this is more for the 2m area. In front of the tote board could also, at the start of the season be a no-go area, I am not sure how close the 2m fence will be to that when its installed.

Sounds and looks like to be a great track, but will we be able to see it? Alot of area taken away where fans used to stand.
