www.speedwaygb.com/news.php?extend.8175Really dont know what to say to be quite honest. I had plans to go down the fours and have a good time with some pals from Peterborough. Dont think I will be going now that we have been totally shafted by the BSPA.

I wonder what criteria has been used to diddle us this time. Things like this just leave me scunnered. Surely there should be qualifying rounds for these super seven events anyway.

What was the qualification criteria? Or did the powers that be simply roll a dice, draw lots, ask some passing pedestrian, consult the stars, cast bones or read Alex Harkess's palm?

I'm guessing the same criteria that stopped Glasgow from fielding Fat Joe in the Pairs at Somerset... Too few meetings for his average t count towards the team prior to a cut off date... It's a debacle anyway... Should bring back the 4's qualifiers... Was one of the highlights of the season on the northern circuit... Edinburgh Friday, Berwick Saturday and sometimes Glasgow & Newcastle on Sunday... Seem to remember it's the southern softies that put a stop to all of this...

Does this mean we can race King's Lynn at Ashfield?
Or will the BSPA put the mockers on that idea, too?

Wonder if the BSPA will have the decency of publishing the qualifying criteria and when the cut off dates were or how many meetings a rider has to have ridden, but I wont put the kettle on for it I see Katajisto is in their line up even though he is riding at reserve at the moment. They would still have made it no matter what, but I was always under the impression that the line ups were initially to be the top four These mugs havent a clue, not much more than a fortnight to the finals and they are only just confirming the line up Probably too busy trying to concoct a way of keeping both Joe AND Travis out of the PLRC

or read Alex Harkess's palm? Cant imagine there will be too much palms being read at MC HQ, Jim, they are far too busy for that

Bit hard to see any pattern as to how the qualifiers were arrived at!!! Kings Lynn surely would be picked ahead of Berwick using just about any method imaginable!!
The item must be discussed at the close season promoters conference and selection criteria established and PUBLICISED.
Agree with Pail Merk that we should race Kings Lynn that afternoon.

Yep, me again!!!
Just noticed that round two of the world Under 21 championship is at Daugavpils on Aug 14th - the night before the Fours - and Bach (Newcastle) and Wobert are riding in it and unlikely to be at Peterboro the next day. Anyone foresee a rule change coming up allowing rider replacement in the Fours!!!!
Seriously, its a bit hard to see how either team can be allowed to compete with such a weakened Four

The criteria used was that it was the top 8 teams by average as at 23 July with the requirement that team members had to have done a minimum of 8 meetings.
Due to rain offs, neither Joe nor Nick made the 8 meeting limit. We have been aware of this for some time and been trying hard to either fit in another away meeting or get the criteria changed. This, obviously, has been unsuccessful.
Although we are disappointed with the criteria, and believe that the 4TT will miss not just the Tigers, but also our supporters, at least we now know the rule for future years

Thanks for that, Gordon. Although, reading other forums, bringing back the qualifiers is still the preferable option amongst the vast majority of fans, southern ones included.
.....oh and by the way whilst you are on, thanks to holidays I havent been able use my re-admission ticket from the Kings Lynn meeting, is it still valid for one more home meeting and the re-arranged KL fixture? I have never had to hold on to one for this amount of time before.

Precisely-surely it's better to have meaningful meetings to fill the schedule rather the odd challenge, a "give us a name for a meanigless fill in meeting" afternoon, and the like? Nobody's going to convince me that a Tigers team with Joe, Travis and Josh at least (and with no disrespect to the others) wouldn't add to the Fours, but just like the situation when the people in charge didn't want Joe to come to us in the first place, they hide behing rules rather than look to use them to best possible advantage, instead of working towards presenting the sport in the best possible light. What qualifications do you need to be in charge of the sport-proof of a lobotomy?

No suprise there, didn't think our team average would be high enough.
