And now things get real! BSN semi at Scunthorpe, not the happiest of away tracks for us. Getting 40 or more would set us up for next week. Scorpions have a good opening pairing with Douglas among the top riders in our division. Strong at reserve with Mountain dropping down following the recent line up changes but Basso and Vissing look far stronger at 3 and 4 than Allen and Clegg. Marcin could be the difference. If the track suits him - and I think the fast round track should be to his liking - then a good score from him could be pivotal. Strong drink, crisps and a night watching it on BSN tonight!

Well done to all the riders for a professional performance and great victory. Also really enjoyed the BSN production; good to see behind the scenes in the pits and at the pits gate, all our riders seemed to be up for it and supporting each other.

A truly great meeting, the best I've seen in years, passing and repassing in just about every heat...and the result was pretty good too. A great little track with only one track grade - something we should consider? - and the meeting run in under 90 minutes. Claus and Marcin showing no signs of rustiness despite so few meetings this year. Cami Brown making the right calls - going for Ace to replace Ben after A two minute exclusion and sticking with Lee rather than giving Ace another ride. Well done Cami. A bit of "afters" between Claus and Jake Allen - not sure what that was about- just added to the atmosphere. If Carlsberg did Speedway.....! Oh and the Monarchs lost!

I thought Allen ran into the side of Claus when all riders slowed down at the pits. Might watch it again! Also liked the way Simon Lambert went over to Ace and congratulated him after Ace had beaten him.

Simon Lambert was very impressive in the pits as the Scorpions captain and a great sportsman too. Seem to remember he rides Ashfield pretty well too.
