A whole lot happening this weekend, which will decide the shape of the season for a number of clubs and I would expect - a comfortable home win against Berwick tonight which will take us into the BSN semis - Edinburgh not to score enough against Oxford and to be eliminated from the KO Cup, leaving them with only league fixtures for the rest of the year - ditto Berwick tomorrow at home to Red car, meaning we get the Bears in the Cup - Redcar to win at home against Scunthorpe, setting up both to make the BSN semis - Bears need to beat Birmingham to clinch it. This has the upside of the delayed Oxford v Plymouth fixture not having any bearing on the four semifinalists and not holding up the competition.
While the forecast seems "fair" for tonight it will be interesting to see the crowd level after many disgruntled supporters were making rash threats not to return etc

How was the meeting last night? Due to a prior commitment I wasn't able to go. I read there were a couple of crashes and a fantastic Heat 13 but very very protracted. Back of ten?

This has the upside of the delayed Oxford v Plymouth fixture not having any bearing on the four semifinalists and not holding up the competition. While the forecast seems "fair" for tonight it will be interesting to see the crowd level after many disgruntled supporters were making rash threats not to return etc Unusually my forecasts were correct and it just needs Redcar to get enough at Berwick tonight for a "full house". With Tigers, Poole and Scunthorpe through to the BSN semis and Redcar favourites to join them - they need to beat Birmingham next Saturday - we're now trying to squeeze a pint into a quart jar in terms of fixtures. Poole has a blank on May 17 which looks like their home date for the BSN semi.- but that's the easy part as they're the only non Friday race night track in the semis - they race Scunthorpe at home in the league the following week, so possibly wouldn't be pleased to draw the Scorpions. Redcar, Scunthorpe and ourselves all have free dates on May 19 and 26 but the BSN is committed to streaming all semi final ties so there can't be two on the one night. It'll be interesting to see how this is resolved. Some change of race nights, perhaps changing league fixtures to BSN ties if the draw goes that way -we're at Scunny on May 12, the Scorpions are at Poole on May 24... or the BSN don't show every meeting (probably unlikely given their sponsorship) Oh we might have KO Cup ties with Redcar to fit in too! Iinteresting times!
