What does it matter Fergus which team I support ?
Its just a simple observation that when young riders stay at the one team for a lengthy period they become stale and get to comfortable. It happened with Robert Ksiezak at Glasgow and is happening at Edinburgh with Andrew Tully for these riders to progress they need to move to other clubs ride in different countries and with Josh already missing out on Poland for 3 years im sure he wouldn't want to make it a fourth. Glasgow fans and all speedway fans are selfish and only think of what is best for them and there team not about the rider.

I was simply curious about where your allegiances lie as while I read your original post the sun disappeared behind the clouds and I was met with an overwhelming feeling of doom and gloom - probably just a coincidence.
I can't really comment on whether Andrew Tully has gone stale as I don't see enough of him on a regular basis. What I have seen has never really got me that excited tbh.
As for RK I think you are well wide of the mark. His UK career never exactly got off to the smoothest of starts so by the time he arrived @ Glasgow he was rebuilding his confidence.
Gradual improvement was made over the next 2.5 years (hardly a lengthy period btw?) then he decided to move to Birmingham in 2009 which was a mistake imho.
I never understand why some fans are always looking for a reason as to why certain riders don't get better every year. Do they need to race abroad? Do they need a change of track?
Quite simply sometimes they reach their level and that's it.
William Lawson is a prime example. There was a clamour in some quarters to see him go EL. Good PL rider but not EL class imho.
Matthew Wethers is another who has reached his level. Decent PL heat leader and team man but that's as far as he will go.
Josh has served his apprenticeship @ Glasgow and improved year on year. I'd hardly say he has missed out on Poland since he is only 20 and still got his whole career ahead of him.
He has all the attributes to go far in the sport but I don't see any reason why another year in the PL would hurt him. Holder, Ward, B Pedersen and N Pedersen were all around the 9 point mark when they moved up and that's what I think Josh should be aiming to do.
You mentioned ambition in your original post. Do you think Ryan Fisher lacks ambition by riding PL this season after some very good performances for Swindon in the EL last season?

How dare you. I had a post with the word chickensh*it taken off and you're using words like keech quite gratuitously? I am confuffled now. I don't know what to make of this. Will I now be able to use one of my favourite ugly words if I say someone is talking 'pish' now? Surely. I mean, if keech is being passed, why not pish?

From the Inappropriate behaviour thread Are we really going to have to go down the road of me having to list every word that is unacceptable? Common sense, shirley? ;D

Que? What's the problem here. It's known as "taking the pish." If we can't do that what's the point of the board? A sense of proportion along with a sense of the ridiculous. I seem to have a real problem with some people....it's called a sense of humour. Cannae help it....and cannae stop it. It's in my jeans.

It will be the wish of most fans that Josh does stay next season. If so, then we'll also have Screeny, hopefully Travis and young Nick. So potentially there won't be too many points left to play with if Josh and Nick continue their current progress. It will be interesting to see how the promotion deal with that!

Don't want to get too far of ourselves here-let's see where we are at the end of the season as R/R and other names might well force their way into nos 1/7 before we get to the end October. Did anyone visualise a team close to what we have now even at the start of 2010?

Did you not see the ;D that I posted? Apologies if I came across as a 'Big Bad Mod' there. Its just the last time we had a post like that, it turned out to be a fake account set up by somebody with a grudge against the forum and was designed to cause, shall we say, a bit of unrest on the ol' ET! They had their reasons, I'm sure, but that's water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. You say you were taking the pish, and that's fine but the problem this here t'interweb of ours is that if you don't put these stupid wee smiley faces in your post then it can lead to people taking things the wrong way. Like this guy....... and that's when problems start. Tigereye, feel free to keep taking the pish, this board is about having a laugh and supporting the Stripes after all. It's unfortunate that there are other people out there who are just intent on being snidey and causing trouble. These are the folk that get the bans. Just as an FYI, and so everybody is crystal clear, the following words are unnacceptable: **** **** ******* **** Ryan Fisher **** *** *** * ******* **** ;D Some of the mods have had a wee bit of an itchy trigger finger when it comes to the old editing but I've had a word. Rule of thumb. If you type a word which comes up as stars please use another one. Plenty of words out there to mean the same thing. Do you agree, or even, concur? ;D Anyway, I've rambled on enough, back to topic. What an excellent score from Josh. It's been said before but Josh is the first genuine talent that we have unearthed since Robbie Nagy. How worrying is that! Definitely agree with the other posters who says he should wait until he is averaging 9 points per meeting before moving up. Look at the likes of Lawson, Bager and Claus Vissing!
