Douglas Craig rode 6 matches for the Tigers in 1954. Alistair Craig rode 1 in 1980. I think they were both from Ayrshire. Were they father/son ? Douglas appears in a Tigers team photo for that year. Excluding them till confirmed, there have been 5 father/son combos in the Stripes and 6 lots of brothers. I am sure you lads will get them.

Despite the 26 year gap between their appearances, I believe they were actually brothers! Ronnie was another brother, though he didn't make the big team. For father and son, I'll go for the Courtneys - Mark and Scott. For brothers, I'll go for the Courtneys - Mark and Sean For other brothers, I'll go for the Courtneys - Scott and Jamie. I'm surprised there haven't been more than 6 sets of brothers.

The obvious McMillans, Templetons, Beatons and McKinnas. Less so the Hodgsons. Speculative the Stobbarts. Were they related ? Michael and Jackson Irving Did Alan Maclean ever ride four us or was it just brother Harry.

The Irvings werent brothers. The Stobbart brothers rode pre war at the White City but only Maurice rode for the Tigers in 1946. Alan Maclean never rode in the senior team but did appear for the Cubs. Thus, we have Frank and Jack Hodgson Doug and Willie Templeton Douglas and Alastair Craig Bill and Jim McMillan Bobby and Jim Beaton ( George never made the senior side) Charlie, Kenny and Martin McKinna Mark and Sean Courtney Les and Neil Collins Scott and Jamie Courtney

Dont think Halls were related. Frankie was from Coatbridge or Airdrie and Tony from N of England. Having checked a yearbook Tony was indeed from Berwick. It was a tentative one anyway, Tony only rode in a challenge match. What about Gordon and Robbie McGregor or am I just being daft?

If we're allowed to include guest appearances, then how about Ivan and Kym Mauger?

While researching Tigers and ex Tigers I came across by sheer chance another father/son combo who scrape in but only by a (Tiger's) whisker. The ROYNONS. Adam rode in the 2000s till that awful arm injury when Paul Cooper nudged him into the fence but his dad CHRIS had 1 ride as number 8 at Peterborough on 27/08/76. I didnt have him down as a guest but on checking with Peter Oakes Yearbook it seems Adam was a signed Tiger so amend your records, people.

It was a tentative one anyway, Tony only rode in a challenge match. What about Gordon and Robbie McGregor or am I just being daft? Definitely no connection between Frankie and Tony. As you say, Frankie was local, Tony was from the Newcastle area. I bumped into Frankie last year after nearly 40 years - he has not changed much - still full of ideas and ambitions. He seems to play a lot of golf and fancies buying a speedway bike. The other speedway Hall, Mark of 1960s Berwick fame was actually Walter Elliot riding under a pseudonym - so no relation to either.

While trawling Tigers challenge matches another pair of brothers might be added. In the opening meeting of 1973, at our Cliftonhill home, Tigers lost to Halifax. In the Stripes were new signing Christer Sjosten and older brother Soren who rode as a guest. If I remember rightly Soren was allocated to the Tigers but said he wasnt coming and that was that.
