8/10/70 Howard Cole guested for us at Sheffield though we had another Welsh guest this century in David McAllan's "friend"Phil Morris ( BOO!). Thanks Benbulben. We'll definitely go for Howard rather than the other guy. Does anyone know if Kid Bodie ever rode for the Tigers?

Trevor Redmond knew the value of a shilling particularly when it came to travelling expenses. Jack Monteith wasn't required to go to Exeter and Long Eaton with Trevor filling in for him. Similarly when Chris Julian was going to miss our home Northern League meeting against a weak Sunderland side, he could have booked a Southern League rider as a guest but chose to ride instead. I suspect this was another example. This reminds me of a quote from the fabulous NL 90 book: "Exeter announce they will replace Andy Sell with a recorded message for away matches. It'll score the same points and save on the travel expenses".

I suppose if the Scot-free thing was going to happen the immediate post-war period while things sorted themselves out was always going to be a prime candidate.
