Can anyone help with these queries from 1988? 9th June at Middlesbrough 4TT - Middlesbrough reserve? 10th June v Long Eaton - heat 9 - Elliott or Roberts in y/b? 3rd July at Mildenhall - abandoned after 4 races, I need to confirm the team riding orders plus heat details from the 4 races. See attached file for what I'm currently going with using Speedway Star. 16th July at Berwick - Whitaker or Martin McKinna in 3rd? 25th July at Exeter - confirm both teams riding orders. Again see attached file for what I'm currently going with using Speedway Star. 10th October v Edinburgh - Edinburgh #8. 1988 Mildenhall v Glasgow.pdf (38.82 KB) 1988 Exeter v Glasgow.pdf (39.92 KB)

Teams as per attachment as per programme with one exception. Phil Jeffrey at #6 for Tigers but took ill at pre match introductions and withdrew. Replaced by Colin Caffrey. Geoff Powell was programmed at #7 but Tigers used Gary Frankum as guest. Whether Colin and Frankum were then switched, i know not.

Can anyone help with these queries from 1988? 9th June at Middlesbrough 4TT - Middlesbrough reserve? Middlesbrough programme says Ashley Norton but it's not been completed although the following week's edition doesn't mention anything about a change in line-up10th June v Long Eaton - heat 9 - Elliott or Roberts in y/b? What benbulben said3rd July at Mildenhall - abandoned after 4 races, I need to confirm the team riding orders plus heat details from the 4 races. See attached file for what I'm currently going with using Speedway Star. Agree with Mildenhall team, but David Blackburn was at 4 and Martin McKinna at 5 for Glasgow16th July at Berwick - Whitaker or Martin McKinna in 3rd? If you mean heat 16, it was Gordon Whitaker; Martin McKinna scored his only point in heat 325th July at Exeter - confirm both teams riding orders. Again see attached file for what I'm currently going with using Speedway Star. Agree with Exeter team, the programme I have has Gary Frankum at 6 replacing Phil Jeffrey and Colin Caffrey replacing Gordon Whitaker at 7 - no mention of Big Leggy (and he wasn't in the second half either)10th October v Edinburgh - Edinburgh #8. What benbulben said

Apologies for Exeter goof.I have scored out vigorously our number 7 in programme so that only the G is really visible but under a magnifier it is definitely Gordon Whitaker and not Leggy. Sorry for any confusion .

Thanks folks.
Yes I meant heat 16 at Berwick - Speedway Star reports McKinna/Whitaker in the heat details but records Whitaker 1, McKinna 0 in the riders' scorechart. Plus the end of season averages have a point kicking between the two. It may have been another meeting but this one was the prime target for obvious reasons.
I'm also after National Junior League heat details (and any other 2nd half races which may have taken place) from the following matches if anyone has them:
2nd July at Berwick (following Bandits v Exeter) 21st August at Milton Keynes 24th August at Wimbledon 14th September at Long Eaton 10th October v Edinburgh
I have the basic scorers from the Speedway Star and the yearbook.

Just to clarify the reserves at Exeter, I checked the home prog for 5 Aug and a report on away match is given (I would imagine by Ian Steel) . Whitaker had to pull out and Caff travelled down (probably as bus driver) and took over at #7. Phil had been unwell all day and pulled out late " and was replaced by local junior Gary Frankum." Phil spent whole meeting being sick. So defo Frankum at 6, Caffrey at 7.

The only completed programme I can help with is Exeter on July 25th. There were three additional races, the fourth (Heat 20) was cancelled.
Heat 17: Steve Brennan beat Greg Daniels with Jon Gould and Brian White both fallers - the race was awarded Heat 18: Brennan 74.0, Gould, White, Daniels Heat 19: Brennan 74.4, White, Gary Frankum, Gould (excluded)
Brennan, Gould & White wore red, blue & white in all three races, Daniels & Frankum yellow/black

Think that lad Brennan's obituary was in Star last week.
