Anyone heard/remenber Billy Connolly's song called MCGINTY which was on a couple of his albums - "Humble Beginnings: The Complete Transatlantic Recordings, 1969-74" and "Transatlantic Years". It's a parody of Stewball, a quite dreadful song about a racehorse by Peter, Paul and Mary and sadly by The Hollies too. In Billy's version it's about a greyhound and there's a line . She won at White City An a' different tracks Ivry time Ah saw McGinty He was flat on his back

I don't recognise that one. You can sing it for us next week I'm more familiar with 3 Men From Carntyne, featuring a big black greyhound dug called Bob.

If I ever want to sing, take me home immediately as I'll have had far too much to drink!
Lyrics for the first half of the song MCGINTY (Billy Connolly)
1. Now McGinty had a greyhound She was called Caroline And when she won races McGinty drank wine
2. Oh he gave her devotion he even took her for walks Up by Bellahouston And doon by the docks
3. Yes McGinty he loved her But it's no what ye think For the mair she won races The mair he could drink
4. She won at White City An a' different tracks Ivry time Ah saw McGinty He was flat on his back
5. But disaster struck wan night Tae McGinty's career For Caroline wiz a glutton As ye shortly shall hear.
