Started at Blantyre 1 in the first season. Great track and Swervin Mervin Janke was brilliant. His career in Tiger's colours was too short as Halifax came and snapped him up. After Richardson, Farquharson and Emerson came Steve Lawson, the rest is history. Blantyre 2 was completely different but Lawson was still brilliant. Shawfield was again fantastic and the time there was always entertaining even with Dick Barrie on the mike. Too see Bowes, Lyons and Nagy being successful will always be remembered by me and of course Lawson was still No 1, even when that nice man McFarlane tried to drop him. After Shawfield I was lost to the sport, these things happen but 4 years ago through a chance meeting I was back and have regreted the "wilderness" years greatly. Let's hope we can get the crowds from Shawfield back, last week v Somerset was close.

hi all, been following the tigers since i was about 4, (30 years ago eeeeeeck! - feel so old). favourite memory is duckin from the flyin shale at blantyre, we thought it was fun to get hit with stones! loved the shawfield days, especially a certain mr bowes, (isn't he just THE best lookin speedway rider ever!) oh to be a teenager again, anyway, favourite tiger at moment is the funky dicken (although josh is a very close 2nd), his sheer enthusiasm is infectious. loved watchin the messiah over the years, one of speedways true entertainers. have been very lucky to witness some true greats over the years, few favourites being mick powell, shane bowes, jason lyson (was even in their fan clubs ;D) super stevie lawson, david walsh, les collins, the list is endless. dunno how i survive a winter without it! cheers
