Looking for information on a Speedway Rider Ken Sumner, he raced in the Liverpool area in the 1950's. He also raced in Europe.
Thanks Miss Tigs

Darren (Daz) Sumner, former British u 21 champ (1987 - ahead of Mark Loram) may have been a relative. He was born in Stockport which is not a million miles from Liverpool.

Thanks Drosser, Yeah I remember Daz (and Andy Sumner), but don't think there is a connection.

The late 50s or early 50s?
The Chads last season was 1960, the first Provincial League season. They had a guy called SKYNER riding for them - wasn't him by any chance?

I looked up the Stenners annuals from the 1950s when Liverpool were running and there is no mention of Ken Sumner. I also checked my Liverpool programmes when the Tigers raced there in 1951, 52 and 53 and even the second half races don't mention him. Maybe he rode for another team. Jim Henry in Edinburgh is the best person to ask. He specialises in that era and also has many contacts around the country. That maybe is your best bet.
