Press Release Here
Following mixed reactions to the track last Sunday, we would like to announce that today we had the SCB track inspection team in. The new circuit has been inspected by the SCB Northern Track Inspector Doc Bridgett, who spent a lot of time going over various aspects of the stadium and track. Bridgett admitted that there is great potential to the site and, subject to a nunber of matters being attended to over the next few days, will happily give the new facilities the thumbs-up. Co-promoter and Team Manager, Stewart Dickson was especially happy at today's outcome
"Doc Bridgett was in inspecting the track today on behalf of the SCB, and im glad to announce that we have been given the go ahead to race this Sunday, subject to several safety aspects being attended to, which are now well underway. Once these are done then we will feel that all the months of hard work have finally paid off, and we are able to see some competitive action at Ashfield again. No-one is more relieved than myself, Alan and everyone involved at the club, not to mention everyone involved in the track work over the past five months. We thought this day would never come! But now we can safely say that the end is in sight.
However, we are still just short of what is required to make the stadium 100% ready for the public on Sunday. There are still several odd jobs of tidying around the stadium which all add up in the race to be completely ready for Sunday.
I am asking for any volunteers able to lend a helping hand this weekend for the final push towards completion. Even its only for an hour or two, the track will be open from 9am tomorrow (Friday), Saturday and Sunday, as we race to get the stadium in tip-top condition ahead of our our clash with Berwick on Sunday afternoon. There will be jobs for everyone, no matter how big or small, every contribution is welcome.
And finally, can I also if all track staff for the 2011 season could arrive early on Sunday morning/afternoon to get the final preperations completed before tapes up at 4pm."
