Questions from John Houston
Question 1: The injury you got at Sheffield when you had the crash with Roman Matousek - do you think it was a racing accident or did he hit you on the straight?
RN: He was furious and I think he wanted me to be disqualified from the race; but he was never prudent, and he did not think about the possible outcome of his thoughtless action.
Question 2: Would it be correct to say that the highlight of your career must have been your win at the Coventry NLRC?
RN: Yes, It is one of the unforgettable zeniths of my career.
Question 3: How did you sign for the Tigers?
RN:It was thanks to the Hungarian tour and Mr Neil Macfarlane
Question 4: Who was your best team mate to race with?
RN:Shane Bowes
Question 5: With the cost of buying bikes and leathers would you still like to be a speedway rider again?
RN:Now I just want to pass my knowledge, and ride as a hobby.
Question 6: Have you ever had any big sponsorship deals in your riding days?
RN:There was not a really big one, but there were a lot who helped me.
Question 7: How does the speedway in Hungary compare to British speedway?
RN:As far apart as sky and earth
Question 8: I know you have a lot of friends in Scotland - do you miss the laughs?
RN:Yes, I do, but life is changing and irreversible
Question 9: What was the worst track you raced on in Britain?
RN:Bradford Overseas Final.
Question 10: How many tracks did you ride on in Britain?
RN: A lot; I have not counted.
Question 11: Do you think your country is still good enough to compete at top level - like the World Team Cup?
RN: No. It has been unsuitable for many years; a new team with clear attitude would be needed.
Question 12: Did you ever get homesick or feel like going home?
RN:I did, when I had to ride in Britain without my family.
Question 13: Name the best Tigers team you raced in?
RN:1993 team
Question 14: Do you still go to speedway meetings in Hungary?
RN:Yes, sometimes I even ride in them.
Question 15:Is that your son or relation who rides in Hungary?
RN:My son; as there isn’t a speedway racing course nearby, he rides motorcross.
Question 16:Do you miss Scottish mince and potatoes or fish and chips?
RN: I’m sorry, but I did not have any favourites; in spite of it we had some every week.
Question 16:Have you travelled to any Grand Prix around the world?
RN:Yes, I went to one that is nearby, in Krusko, Prague.
