You may be aware that the club is holding a Speedway Dinner - the aim of which is to defray the vast costs involved in the winter construction of the magnificent new racing track within Ashfield Stadium.
Gathering in the Scottish Football Museum at 6.30pm Guests will then move upstairs to the Lomond Suite for dinner at 7.15pm
Dinner will be followed by a raffle and auction, and 3 of Scotland's leading after dinner speakers, including Chick Young and John Htet-Kin. Our host for the evening will be Michael Max. All of our contracted riders will be present.
Tickets are available from Alan Dick and are priced at £40 each. All tables are for 10 people.
A fabulous evening not to be missed!!
Please support this event and help take the club forward to on-track success in 2011
For further information, please contact Alan or send me an ET private message
Kind Regards Alan Dick & Fiona Crawford Organising Committee

Looks like a great night and for a cause dear to all our hearts.
The promotion have committed to a new strength in depth team and to massive track alterations designed to provide fast, safe and entertaining racing.
Both the above will have come in at additional cost, in difficult times I know, so if we the fans, can help by supporting the Dinner then we should.
Maybe on the night the famous Chick Young (hope its not Jonathan Watson) can learn something about a real sport - SPEEDWAY and its FANS

Don't get me wrong I appreciate and am very grateful for the time, money and effort that has gone into improving our track.....but I hate to agree...£40 per head seems like a hell of a lot of money to part with. By the time you add drink, transport, raffle money, outfit etc, etc....easy £100 or more Hopefully there will be some sort of separate raffle/auction or something to help raise funds for this cause.....maybe the GTSSC can come up with something

Personally I wouldn't listen to Chick Young, even if HE paid me £40. I do though hope the night is a success.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply, we really do appreciate your comments, and where possibly try and take them on board.
The majority of Sportsman's dinners are usually round about that price, and are usually ALWAYS men only events, however Glasgow Speedway have opened this up to the female fans as well. It is also not as formal as a regular Sportsman's dinner.
We are hoping to announce or third speaker shortly.
If anyone has any fund raising ideas, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Promotion, Craig McCurdy, STARs or the GTSSC.
Thanks again Fiona
