just thinking djw i remember a rider eddie baldi raced at wimbledon on the wedensday so what year was that That was 1985, GC. An Aussie who rode second halves on the south coast - mostly at Poole - at the time and he was rid rotten and thats saying something when you take into account the majority of those in the Stripes' performances of the era ;D

Another excuse to race Edinburgh. Lets hope it's a different format than usual. Noticed we have Berwick in the quarter finals of the cup if we can beat Leicester. Maybe our best chance in a long time to have a cup run Wouldnt worry about it, DJW, I am sure a typical Scottish summer will help rattle this non-event into touch And I was thinking the same thing about the cup matches, although who knows what the respective line-ups will be when the ties come around

I believe the whole team rode four times in four days during the 1975 season. Even more demanding was three meetings in just over 24 hours (including a lot of road miles) early in 1998. Fours round at Shawfield on Sunday afternoon followed by Newcastle's leg of the same competition that night. Then a Knockout Cup meeting at Stoke at lunchtime the following day.
I think that's the three-meetings-are-too-demanding argument well and truly knocked on the head. Bring back the tours I say.

Nice to see that we race against Edinburgh either home or away for 6 months of the season. I take it the club need the cash from a local match. It's a joke!

Can someone confirm the date of the away meeting at Sheffield please?
All the websites say 28 April, but the Speedway Star preview edition has it as 21 April.

I would say the SS is wrong, Ipswich are racing Sheffield home and away on 21/22(which is Good Friday) and both their websites have this fixture as does the BSPA one
