Another excuse to race Edinburgh. Lets hope it's a different format than usual. Noticed we have Berwick in the quarter finals of the cup if we can beat Leicester. Maybe our best chance in a long time to have a cup run

It's disappointing we have so many one off trips in England. For example Sheffield and Scunthorpe is a great little two-day tour. Even Ipswich and Scunny would have been okay.
Even better would have been to have Ipswich a week later (14th July instead of 7th) to make a three dayer with Somerset and Rye House.
Redcar is scheduled for 19 May. History suggests that this is one fixture which annoyingly gets moved around at the drop of a hat. When will it really take place?
Theoretically we could be facing Edinburgh a dozen times in 2011. Three two-legged challenge matches are pencilled (very lightly) in to go with two league meetings in the first phase. It's possible we will meet again in phase two as well as in the later stages of the Knockout Cup if we both negotiate the first two rounds (a distinct possibility).

I know what you are saying re the double ups (consecutive meetings) which make travel worthwhile. It was the first thing I looked for, and there are a couple - Somerset/Rye House and Scunthorpe/Workington, plus a one off at Ipswich all in July. To be honest three in a row when on the road is probably a little too much for the riders who are away from their workshops. Looks like its July for me this year.

I don't accept this argument. Three day tours were a regular part of the season until the late 1990s. I remember going to one in '98 (Arena-Essex, Newport and Exeter) and there were no significant issues with either machinery or fatigue. Any professional rider should be able to cope with three meetings in as many days no problem.
Besides we are riding a three-in-three at the end of August anyway (Scunthorpe, followed by Workington followed by a home meeting). Why can't we do so again when down south?

In 1991 we had the NLRC at Coventry, then Rye House, Exeter and Milton Keynes(we won two of them as well). Super Steve had 4 in a row!! In 1995 I remember doing Ipswich, Peterboro, Kings Lynn and then watching Dukie Ermolenko in the Overseas final at Coventry, so he had 4 in a row!!!
