Hi guys, can I wish you and yours a very happy New Year and a successful season for the Tigers.
2011 has a few anniversaries
The biggest is in a few days time being the 60th anniversary of Ken Le Bretons untimely passing after a track crash on Oz. Sadly it doesn't look as though it will be commemorated around Ashfield, nor ideed elsewhere.
On a brighter note, 2011 is the 40th anniversary of the Nordic British Final which was held at Hampden in July 71. Undoubtedly the biggest meeting ever held in Scotland - a World championship quarter final leading to the European Final then the World Final itself. Also celebrating the 40th anniversary are the shields Raiders who won the NACSA trophy in 1971, the only time a Glasgow side won a national trophy.
Twenty five years ago, 1986, was our last year at Craighead Park and while they wre never the glory years, it should be remembered that they were vital times in keeping the sport alive here in the west of Scotland.
Ten years ago, 2001, was that when Alan and Stewart took over the promotion from the highly unpopular Brian Sands? Might be wrong about the exact timing of that.
Anyway lets hope that in the future when we are remembering these anniversaries that we'll be including 2011 as a special year - for once I think we have a great chance of some honours this year
Happy New Year

A bit belated, but a Happy New Year to everyone on ET!
Its was quite a year for us here at ET!, and for my personal involvement in it.
We were, suddenly, forced to change the forum location, with a threat of complete deletion in 24-48 hours. Something which caused all sorts of fun for the Mod team, which I had only just joined.
Of course the live updates through out the year were ever improving from my first stadium generated efforts to the easier to read and coloured versions.
I also had the pleasure of posting the updates during the busiest night ever on this version of the forum when Joe, Nick & John made their Tigers debuts at Berwick.
Here's to a great new year, with a new team and a new track, I'm sure we're all counting the days until March.
