Postponement of today's Poole v Plymouth match means that rain has wiped out 16 of this season's 35 fixtures - almost 46 per cent.
Plymouth have other track issues, but foul weather won't have helped.
Climate change has got speedway's number.

It's a big call for the promotion. The forecast isn't great but may be not bad enough for an early call. The worse weather looks to be around meeting time and the last thing we need is a heat ten abandonment when a bonus point is at stake. Even worse an earlier abandonment, leaving a tricky rearrangement for the fixture. We've got newbies coming along for the first time using our free ticket scheme anf we need a decent night to persuade them to come back. And all this is before the Lee Complin situation is known. Good luck in deciding.

First of all, a big shout out to the track guys who worked so hard during the week but the monsoon ended the night big time. A tough night for the promotion whose gamble didn't pay off in the end. It's hard to know how newbies would react to last night. At least we spared the possibility of a heat ten declaration... and all that it might have brought. Once again the issuing of readmission tickets wasn't good. Not everyone knew about the need to get one, not everyone got one. It looks like little learned from last year's mid meeting abandonment against Berwick. The idea of having supporters queue up through the Den to get readmission tickets is a nonsense. Takes far too long. Do we need a return to the old cinema ticket type that was used pre Facennas, being given out each week, suitably coloured and numbered to differentiate between meetings.

Quite a simple solution to allow fans faster exit when abandoned, will pass that on. Tracked the weather all day using various satellite maps, unexpected wind direction changed from coming from the city centre SW to coming directly Maryhill way roughly 8.10pm bringing over the clouds that were missing us and from there the skies just got angrier looking, until it opened up on us. Positives to take from the evening track wise was, when the rain stopped, with 15 mins there was no standing water, track was still like concrete and the new corners are subtly doing the job we were hoping for. No doubt plenty bumps, twists n turns throughout the season, but eyes on the prize, feet on the ground and get the job done.

Surely the till reciept should suffice, what's the point of getting it signed?

The only problem with the till receipt might be that it needs to be inspected to ensure its the right one and not from another meeting - a rather fine technical point. Could also be for a number of people who don't want to use it for the same meeting.

Surely the till reciept should suffice, what's the point of getting it signed? Good that questions on FB are now being answered by " Glasgow Tigers Speedway" which is how it should be. Receipts now being accepted as proof of payment. However a definitive statement over whether this would apply is required should the situation arise again.
