Hoping that the 38point limit isn't to be introduced seems a forlorn hope. Indeed it may now cause innumerable problems if it isnt implemented as most teams have planned on this basis.
The fixture list last year was hopelessly imbalanced , a scarcity of meetings in the summer and a rush to complete before an extended deadline in the early autumn. The root cause seems to be clubs inability to arrange KO Cup rounds, BSN semis and final and restaging dates for rained off meetings. Having 2H and 2A in the league would mean there was no requirement for a BSN competition and having a complete KO Cup draw (ie like the tennis at Wimbledon where your path to the final is known) would allow dates to be set into the fixture list at the outset. For rain off restaging, should clubs be looking at Tuesdays, a generally unused race night? Sundays don't often work for restaged meetings as Poland always seems to have priority as Redcar found out in the playoffs. And should there be a fixtures secretary with the power to set dates. It would seem we cant rely on clubs compromising - the ilfated Jubilee Trophy being a classic example of this.
Finally an upgrade of the £1 A heat discount offered for meetings not making it to heat ten. It rips off fans and even £2 is a poor deal.

I think a Championship CEO would be a good idea.
Objectively the Premiership CEO appears to have a high profile and has shaken up the status quo.
I think an independent visionary is required for the Championship. Preferably that person would have a good track record in business.
The rule book needs completely cast aside and someone given a literal carte blanche.

That is who I was thinking of but I don't know what he does with himself these days, would he want the hassle?

As long as it's not Morris. No. I think he's got enough on his plate, and obvs would never be acceptable to us, but objectively someone like him.....

I hope the conference comes up with definitive league line ups. Right now there seems considerable doubt over whether Birmingham will join the Premiership with rumours of Scunthorpe taking the sixth place if they don't and an even stranger one the Oxford may have teams in both the Premiership and the Championship. If this isn't resolved then both leagues will be in a state of limbo.

As long as it's not Morris. I'll second that. He seems to be the Golden Boy these days - personally, I see a darker shade of brown.

And what did we get - the same as last year! A minimum of just 11 home meetings, more if we progress in the BSN and KO Cup. Underwhelmed!
