Cami has been awarded this honour jointly with Oxfords Peter Shroek. What do we make of this? A biblical saying " A prophet is not without honour except in his hometown" perhaps sums up my feeling Or John Lennon, on being asked if Ringo Starr was the best drummer in the World, replying that he wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles. Possibly. For me the best manager was whoever pulled off the signing of Vadim Tarasenko. That was key to us winning the title. Don't know if it was Cami but suspect not.

Despite and not because springs to mind. I've never met the guy, he's seems very decent and there's no doubting his commitment.

It was Cami who pushed to sign Lee at the start of the season, with many questioning that decision, but as we saw in the play off's Lee's contribution and impact played a huge part in the league win at the most important part of the season, so that decision should carry some weight in his reward of Team manager of the year. Cami does take a hell of a lot of flak for decisions he's made throughout this season and previous ones (not for me to say right or wrong), however the bottom line is he was the manager of the team who won the league when many expect us to fall at the last hurdle again, so as Benbulben says, with the flak he has taken over the years , yes he deserves the accolade of Team manager of the year IMHO.

It's very hard to know how to rate managers performances. While we are very aware of where our own may have slipped up, opponents TMs don't often come under the same scrutiny. It's hard to justify why the Oxford guy was rated higher than Neil Middleditch or the Scunthorpe TM, whoever he is, as their teams both won a trophy. Anyone know who the Round the Board personnel are who make these decisions. They often seem to sit on the fence by announcing shared winners.
For me, I didn't expect us to win the playoffs until we signed Tarasenko which IMO was the masterstroke which won us the title and possibly little to do with Cami Brown.
Very few TMs have had a major impact on titles - possibly the Somerset guy who put his reserve into heat 13 at Armadale some years ago to allow a change in the following heat in a play off final. May be Ian Steel who marshalled just four riders Swindon in a cup semi about 30 years ago - not completely sure about this and stand open to correction if Ive got this wrong.
