It seems to be widely accepted that there will be a 38 point limit next year but is that 36 for six riders and a 2.00 number seven or just a straight 38 for all seven. If the former would we want Ace and a 2.00 rider being our reserves ? It's not just Ace, there are quite a few riders i this category - Connor Coles, Nathan Stoneman, Nathan Ablitt, Joe Thompson, Sam Hagon and others. Will they struggle to get a team place? Certainly hope not.

If, as being suggested, one of the reasons for a 38 points limit is to discourage doubling-up, then I'm strongly in favour! Unrestricted doubling-up has been a disaster for speedway and all it has achieved is the shortage of riders which promoters are now all moaning about! My strong opinion is that doubling-up has been the most damaging innovation that British Speedway promoters have ever introduced, it has become a monster totally out of control, and it is now virtually impossible to even control it much less get rid of it.

Not sure that a lower points limit has any/much impact on the numbers doubling up. This year it just meant a number of young riders were without a team place. If we are serious about reducing doubling up we need direct action, like riders with a Premier average over a certain figure, perhaps 6.00, are not allowed to double down in the Championship.

More departures! glasgowtigers.co.uk/four-more-leave-tigers/Four is a bit of a misnomer as it double counts Vadim and Marcin. So it looks like Chris, Lee and Ace are the only ones returning for 2024. They come to a bit less than 16, leaving over 22 for the new four. Polish commitments requiring riders to attend Saturday morning practices seem to rule out Ben and possibly none of our 2024 Tigers will have Polish links to tracks riding on a Saturday. Ben certainly didn’t want to leave. But he wants his career to progress in Poland and his team want him to practice on Saturday mornings, that was an impossible hurdle. No real reason given for Claus not being retained just saying he won't be back. Still injured, retiring ? Iinteresting times!

Fundamentally we will be paying the same money or more for an inferior product. Will speedway never learn that it's overpriced, especially in the current financial climate. Clubs will surely save money with lower points limit so hopefully they can all "reset" finances to a more manageable level. Family of four for £20 should be the norm.

While the limit is 38, there's still 15 heats. I can't see established riders accepting a lower payment per point AND they are likely to score even more as the standard is reduced, so they will earn more and cost more. Teams may have tailenders on a lower pay rate than their predecessors but doubt it will offset the increase in the top men's money. Tigers look likely to be retaining Lee and Ace so this won't apply.
The sport missed the chance to restructure/ reduce rider payments when it came back after lockdown. The Championship needs riders to be semi professional with day jobs but this seems as far away than ever. Sadly imposed pay policies have been tried but no one really stuck to them.
Wouldn't bank on any reduction to admission charges for next year.

I'll eat my hat if there's any admission reduction next year. I agree they should do a very reasonable "family of four" price but single punters turning up or buying online will be at least twenty quid.

Doesn't Connor work for Allied Vehicles, though that may be not typical. In my "brave new world" there would be no doubling up in the second tier - some hope!

Yes he does, and IIRC James Grieves works/worked for Stewart Dickson, but obvs under those circumstances it's easier to ask the boss for an early finish.

Haven't a clue whom it might be
