After tonight's victory at Redcar, well done to all the riders and 2 guests, the Tigers record in the league is raced 16 meetings; won 13 and lost 3.
Just thought it was worth mentioning.
Good luck to all the lads for the play-offs.

With a win percentage of over 80%, surely our best ever figures.

Plus we beat Poole twice in 10 days in July. No wonder the Pirates have avoided us in the play-off group stage.

That is now two years in a row Tigers are unbeaten at home in regular league fixtures (17 matches). Such joy must be tempered by the small amount of league meetings and it doesnt compare to Shawfield where the team went unbeaten from 1992-1996. Our first unbeaten at home was 1950 ( the year of Tommy Miller) from 14 meetings. We were also unbeaten in 1970, 1979,2006, the title winning season of 2011 and 2018 This season is the 13th time so congrats to the team manager surely !

Our 1993 team won 19 out of 20 aggregate points(95%) while this year it's just 5 out of 8 (62.5%) SO it's to be hoped Tarasenko can help us improve on this as we need 3 out of 3 to win the play offs.
Benbulben did we have a home draw in 1970? Unbeaten but not a 100% record ?

Great memory, coombes. 17 th April 1970 Tigers 39 Swindon 39. So unbeaten, yes, but 100% no.

I well recall that 1970 draw with Swindon because, several days earlier, I had skelped a football through a neighbour’s shed window. My old man threatened to ground me for my weekly trip to Hampden, but a fair bit of sooking earned me a reprieve.
The Tigers were undone by Oyvind Berg’s engine failure in the final heat. Barry Briggs beat Jim McMillan, with Pete Munday taking the vital third place that tied the score.
I’ve always regarded the dropped league point as God punishing me for my wayward blooter.
