Midsummer's Day and our season really starts tonight. Nearly four weeks since we rode in a team meeting and it's to be hoped the guys aren't rusty, particularly James, Claus and Paul who aren't attached to other teams. A big one tonight with the return of one Chris Harris and it'll be interesting to see how he goes and what reception he gets. More interesting though will be the debut of young Connor and it's to be hoped he's told that any points he gets will be a bonus and to ease himself in. Sunday sees us off to Peterborough for the Fours, an event our team looks designed for. Let's do it this year!

Sunday sees us off to Peterborough for the Fours, an event our team looks designed for. Let's do it this year! Agree that young Connor should be allowed to develop at his own pace and that he should be told there is no pressure on him to score a shed full of points. However, it looks as if he did really well at Belle Vue yesterday beating Drew Kemp in scoring 9 points from 5 rides. An observer on one of the Forums suggested his style reminded them of Max Frick - no bad thing! Hopefully our fair, fast track will suit his style. Also good that Kyle (Colts), Craig (Kings Lynn), Rasmus (Swindon) and Paul (Swindon) were all riding last night. As you say, it will be good to see the team back in action, hopefully, in front of a decent crowd for what should be cracker.

Phew that was a bit close last night with Paul and Claus struggling after a bit of a lay off in recent weeks although Paul has had a couple of bookings elsewhere. Let's hope they are on it for our two meetings against Edinburgh next week.

Let's hope they are on it for our two meetings against Edinburgh next week. Fair to say you got your wish coombes. Also think there's more to come from this team provided we stay clear of injury. As ever you still hear moans from some fans such as he's not so good now he's signed for Swindon but fans should realise these guys aren't machines and small things can cause problems with bike set ups etc. In the good old days the only thing you changed was the back sprocket now everything gets tweaked and with our weather things are never simple. Anyway the bottom line is that we have picked up wins twice at Edinburgh, at Eastbourne, at Newcastle and a draw at Sheffield - when was the last time we started as season like this? So well done to the team and the team manager, who picked up a lot of stick last year, and everyone behind the scenes for making supporting the Tigers really, really enjoyable this year. Hopefully I've not jinxed things!

Looks like Birmingham are making a couple of changes which will strengthen them for our league visit on Wednesday. Aarnio might also be out which could see them book a guest. Last week I had this fixture inked in as a potential away win, now I'm not so confident.
