I have to say I've started buying it again over the winter and have found it informative with interviews or stories that I've not seen elsewhere. Recently a two page spread on Chris Harris, more recently an interview with one of the Courtney's explaining the new starting procedure and the compulsory use of transponders, apparently last year was a trial. Also articles on the England v USA test matches and some of the things that happened behind the scenes.

I stopped getting a few years ago. I took out a subscription and for a few year had no problem with delivery, it landed on the floor every Thursday without fail. Then it became erratic, delivery any day after Thursday, sometimes Wednesday the followimg week with that weeks arriving on Thursday. Star blamed Royal Mail and RM saying it was SS fault. They also told me the contract was with SS and not me.

I see speculation on BSF that Claus Vissing is the potential last name to be filled into the Championship starting 7s, at Workington.
Claims that he's holding out for an eye watering one hundred pounds a point!
That can't be the going rate, can it? :-0

Wouldn't be surprised as he is in a strong negotiating position. Not sure there are many alternatives for the Comets. How much is Harris on with us? And what was Tarasenko on? A BSF post last year suggested he wanted a huge amount to ride in an individual meeting at Redcar. Whatever hecwas getting, he was worth it!

Is it just £100 per point with no add-ons or is it £100 per point plus use of van, cost of mechanic, cost of flights, etc. The former would seem to me to be ok, not so sure about the latter. On the other hand I think he would do well for them.

NDL points limit change to ensure Perry gets to ride in the league. Seems the right thing to do and something similar should have been done to ensure Rowe and Gilkes got team places in a Championship side but sets a dangerous precedent. britishspeedway.co.uk/wsra-ndl/ndl-limit-adjusted/

RIP Danny. There are not enough characters in speedway - we were lucky to have had Danny for a time. To win leagues and cups, it is important that top riders are reliable and consistent and can, hopefully, raise their average. Riders like Danny tend to be enigmatic with as many poor performances as good ones. If they are on an off night, they will only get two rides which is not too costly. On the other hand, on a good night, they will race with the best and can be match winners. However, win or lose Danny always gave his all and worked hard at lifting the crowd and improving the atmosphere. Last season we had Lee who seems to have a similar nature and loved winning - he raised the spirits of the fans (and his team mates.

From a post by a guy on our FB page I sometimes wonder how we let this guy in a million do what he did.The problem is nobody knew how he was feeling, because people don’t say how they are really feeling. This sums up my feelings too and I feel we should add appropriate contact points at this time like the one below www.turn2us.org.uk/about-us/news-and-media/latest-news/time-to-talk-day

New regulations on guests etc britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/2024-regulations-key-changes/The signing deadline occurs when your team has raced 75% of their league fixtures (12 meetings). Unlike the Premiership, the Championship fixtures aren't consistent. Redcar complete the 12th meeting on July 5 while Oxford don't achieve this until August 3, quite a difference. Not sure who benefits from this. What do you guys think? Similarly the choice of guests for semi finals (BSN and KO Cup) can now only come from teams already eliminated. While last years BSN semis were all run within about 10 days , the KO Cup semis were four months apart! And Poole v Oxford in late May was run before the outcome of two other quarterfinals was known, meaning they would have had a limited choice of guests if the new regs were in place then.
