I'm sitting here sat watching the Isle of Man TT racing, and it's brilliant. I'm just wondering, have they ever had speedway racing on the island?
Surely if anywhere would, they would.

Almost certainly not. The only place I can think of that might be capable of hosting speedway is Onchan Stadium which has been used for stock car racing for many years.
Doubt if a Manx team, miles from anywhere and in the middle of the Irish Sea would ever be a success (consider the travelling expenses) but if some enterprising / mad promoter fancies giving it a go, good luck to them.

Three words Graham. Isle of Wight??? If they can do it, surely a bikes mad community like IoM should go mad for it? Plus they're nearer.

tigereye,
Been to both IOW which is just a stones throw from the mainland and the IOM which is nearer to Ireland and Scotland than England. Its a fair old journey from Liverpool even on a high speed ferry. A big open with lots of topliners during a space in TT week would work big time given that there's thousands of bikers looking to be entertained but a regular speedway league team wouldnt work becuae unfortunately the logistics would kill it. Do agree however that a really good speedway meeting during TT could bring on board a lot more speedway fans.
