I'm sure those of us of a certain vintage will have fond memories of the Darvel Rockets that competed in the much-lamented Scottish Junior League.
Did anyone ever visit their training base at Darvel? Any memories of what it was like, who trained there, what happened to the track after they stopped using it etc?
Don't suppose any pictures of the track still exist?

As no one else has replied here are my rather sketchy recollections about the Darvel track
* built by Alastair and Ron Craig on an old coal tip , on or near their field
* was probably nearer Sorn than Darvel
* would be fairly certain that colin Caffrey has ridden there - not so certain that he'll remember though!

I know that track. My dad helped build it. It was knows as "the bings" as it was built on an old coal bing. Colin Caffrey, the McKinnas, Alastair "Sparky" Craig & quite a few others rode on it. As did I on my QR50. I even remember we had some pretty fast english riders come up and practice on it as well.
