Remember the Irvines that turned out for us - Jackson, Michael and Greg - either in Glasgow or during our short stay at Workington. We're they related? And were there others?

I think Greg was Michael's son. Not related to Jacko and they were IRVINGS rather than IRVINES. There was a Stuart Irvine who rode for the Tigers in the early 50s. He was a Weegie and also a Slim Irvine who rode second halves.

You're right about the Irvines. Had even written it down correctly before typing it up! Old age doesn't come itself. Think Gary was possibly Michael's son. Greg rode in the late 70s/1980.

Gary Irving son of Michael. Kriss Irving(Stoke II) also rode 2003-7. Kriss was son of Greg. From Robert Bamford's yearbooks.

I don't think Greg ever rode for Glasgow. You're quite right, he only rode for Workington. Was he related to Jackson and/or Michael?

Only ones to ride for Tigers were Jackson and Michael. Wasnt Michael a fireman ? Haven't come across any other relationships which doesnt mean they weren't related. Maybe it is a fairly common name in Cumbria.

Yes, I also think Greg is Jacko's older brother and they are not related to Michael. Not sure where rhe next generation of Kriss and Gary fitted in, though I do remember Michael's daughter Amanda riding a mini bike at Shawfield!
