Just wondering if our two new Australians Joey and Harley manage to keep in touch with their folks at home. Bygone years they would have had to write letters and wait some time on a reply. Today they could sit down and have a face to face chat via www.skype.com All they need is a computer that has access to the Internet. Anyone know if they have they managed to use Skype? Once connected the calls are free.

This will be a very difficult weekend ahead for the Tigers. Workington away on Saturday - realistically......I hope I am wrong but..........nae chance nae points Moanarchs at home on Sunday - realistically......a pretty close encounter - I think we'll need to have everyone....especially the top 5 chipping in with decent points A win by 1 point is still a win.

I see that ex-Tiger (not asset ) David Bellago will miss Berwick's live SKY meeting on Tuesday having been given a 3 meetings ban by the French Federation. Oh, mon crocodile est greetin' again. I'm afraid I don't regard Bellego as an ex Tiger, since the BSPA ruling surely means he was a guest for these matches he rode for us, but it seems the FIM want these young guys to travel thousands of miles on a shoestring. I suppose it's all part of the learning game.

I suppose it reaffirms the vicious cycle a young speedway rider has.
He can't afford the good gear required to win heats and to win prize money to afford good gear.
While the veteren rider is successful and wins heats and can afford good gear.
The start up costs for a speedway career must be astronimical.
Bank of mum and dad must get a hammering.

Worky is a non event in my eyes with so many guests - total farce. Monarchs will be too strong for us (hope I'm wrong). My patience is running out with Wright and Bager.

I can understand why the management signed James - he was a real star in the Premier League a few years ago and great to watch when he did not gate - he might have turned it around. Now, he looks like someone who does not want to be on the track - uses his experience to stay ahead when he gates - gives up when he misses the gate. Take the easy money and run! Henning could race at any level (World Cup or National League) and would miss every gate and chase the nearest wheel hard for 4 laps and end up with 5 points. Harley is quite fast when he traps but all at sea when he doesn't (Robert K? Ross B?). I would be more inspired if his gating was better. Given the opportunity, I would replace all three - there must be loads of points available (unfortunately, not many good racers). That may seem harsh, but I cannot see any prospect of any of these three becoming genuine fans favourites. Grievesy is unlikely to have a great season but can still be an ace up the sleeve. Joe S is earning his bread and saving further embarrassment - he deserves quality backup. Joe J and Joey are both good to watch and try hard from the back - as good as could be expected - with great potential.

harsh words, drosser, but spot on...the promotion cannot kid themselves on that their gamble is paying off.....if this team continues to misfire Mr Biggart will be coming back to urge us to turn up never mind bringing a friend....not looking forward to today and may just watch the footie instead

I did not make the meeting today but, looking at the updates site, the situation seems to have gone from bad to completely unacceptable. Monarchs lowest scorer (our 'reject' Mitchell Davey) outscored everyone except Joe and James. Monarchs have a fairly solid team with Craig Cook on 'cloud 9' so a defeat was almost inevitable. However, it looks as though Glasgow were mentally defeated befor they left the dressing room. There is no worse sight in any sport than competitors with no spirit. It would have been an ideal day for some of the young lads to be a hero and give the supporters aomething to shout about. Joe apart (thankfully he is a professional who always gives his all) there appears to have been little to justify the cost of admission. Its great to have a good management team who have obviously made a fair attempt to field a reasonable team. Time for some home truths and 'jotters', I'm afraid. Neither Edinburgh or Berwick would have shown the patience with non performance that we have - heads would have rolled long ago. With the right influx of riders, there is still time to build a team who will perform to a reasonable standard and start building for next year.

Well after last nights result, I expected to be beaten today but by 29 points I have followed Tigers since 1964 and seen teams beating/humping us but has any team won by so many points at our tracks
Henning Bager and James Wright are not good enough for Tigers We have a long tail and as such we need all the experienced riders to score, last week and this week it didn't happen I thought that when James Wright and Henning scored 17 points between them, against Scunthorpe, they had turned the corner, guess not Anything we get from the younger riders is a bonus but 5 points among three, is pretty poor
Ok the track was slick, Tigers seldom gated but sometimes, when they did, they were passed easily
Joe and James cant carry all of the team
Bad enough loosing by this amount but to Monarchs, that makes it worse
Craig Cook, what a find, no weak links in Monarchs line up, even Mitch won a race, I hope he will be OK
No meeting next week, good, gives me time to calm down ;D
Bye for now, on the square
