Can't complain with that result tbh. First meeting as a team and by the sounds of it we could easily have won it.
Screen - Superb Theo - Started poorly but did well with last 2 rides Henry - Never expected much from him, being out for so long. Can only get better Grieves - Poor 1st ride, can't fault him after that though. Josh - Little dissapointed tbh but Armadump never been one of his favoured tracks Morris - Brilliant from the wee man, he's gonna be a star. Raj - Would have gone I think better if it wasn't for the sad passing of his Uncle during the week.

Did anyone else think that James had got second in the last heat, they never showed the replay of the last heat?! Mathew was on the grass more than once.

Looks like we've got a bit of a team for this year!
To lose by two points at Am-a-dump, a ring rusty team (with some more rusty than others) they looked like they have real potential for this year ... and importantly they look like they can be a solid septet.
I can't remember the last time I saw our pair first out the traps in so many heats, especially at Embra - not a bad achievement considering the lack of match practice. Even Joe was getting out the gate!
Theo - got better as the night went on and I'm sure he would have liked one more ride. He was superb when he hit the front in heat 11 - without doubt a fourth heat leader!
Young Nick - a strong reserve. Has definitely grown in stature on the track. A great looking prospect. Will survive when he goes into the main body.
James - Getting back to his best - heat 15 was a faux pas. Credit to Wolbert though.
Joe - Looked class and slimmer - hence the gating?!
Christian - Needs match practice, a drop to reserve will help.
The Raj - Match practice needed.
Josh - Heat 9 was due to choosing the wrong line (mid track) and not getting back on course once Tully passed. Looks very composed and that's not easy at the trick track.
All in all, we have a lot to look forward to, only question mark is Christian and I'm sure he'll come good.
Embra? Cook looks an excellent signing, Wolbert - I've always liked. Apart from those two though it felt like a bit of same old, same old and there was nothing there to make me think I'll spend a few Fridays and £15.50 at the Dump.

Yes the lack of a replay was highly suspicious A good meeting where we almost pinched it, lots of plus points. Wee Nick being the star!! Thumbs up for the big screen at Armadale showing replays of each heat (apart from heat fifteen ) and the progressive score, nice touch! but don't those monarchs look scruffy

Yes the lack of a replay was highly suspicious I was certain James got 2nd and texted as much to someone as I went straight back to the car. It was only when the others got to the car I heard the 'result'. I could only see it head on, but it looked clear to me

I was standing with some friendly monarchs fans (yes, friendly ones) and they werent entirely convinced that Wolbert had done enough but standing at bend 1 makes it nearly impossible to tell but not showing the replay spoke volumes haha.
With regard to the guys performances i was impressed with everyone, even Christian despite his poor return. All that Christian wasnt doing was nailing the tight line on the 1st and 2nd bends, i get the feeling if he had got his last ride with that outside line opening up, he may have had more success.
One thing struck me though, who do boo as the pantomime villian this season? I'm completely stuck on that one

Got to be pleased with the result and a very promising performance. Armadale is never an easy place for your 1st match of the season. James took 1 race to get shot of the race rust, what else do you expect from a paisley boy! No messing about! Theo Pijper perhaps caught out with set ups seen as Armadale has changed since his last visit? last 2 races very promising! Josh Grajczonek I think a sports psychologist is required to get him round armadale , although I do remember him having a good score there last season. perhaps swapped bikes with Grievesy after there 1st ride much much better to come from Josh. Christian Henry will take a few weeks to get on the pace, can't be easy after 2 years off the saddle. A drop to reserve at the first chance. He'll be rattlin' up the points by June. The Raj probably unsettled by the events of the week added to a lack of practice since his injury, he'll be up to speed very quickly i'd imagine. Nick Morris what can you say? don't think there's any targets for Nick this season just let him do his thing, but seems very very promising. will help him immensely not having the expection of performing miracles now he has very capable reserve partner. good season ahead Joe Screen terrible performance imagine dropping a point at armadale, give him the benefit of the doubt seen as he was unbeaten his last 4 rides. maybe it was a set up issue with not having enough weight to put on the back wheel. I have sneaky suspision we didn't see the real Joe Screen last season, Think this season could be something special.
