Remember the Strike It Lucky game show with the Top, Middle or Bottom options. Well let's look at the 2020 teams and these three sections
Berwick
TOP - seems weak with Summers and NBJ, unlikely to do much away from home
MIDDLE - pretty solid and likely to ensure they do well at home. Gappmaiers away form may well be their undoing on the road
BOTTOM - two young Brits, likely to improve, but may have a tough time away
Birmingham
TOP - Harris and Garrity or Harris and THJ.? Harris is getting past his sell by date, Garrity is unlikely to go all season uninjured, THJ in the mood?
MIDDLE - better than 2019
BOTTOM - looks the right structure, one decent average and one promising 2+ number seven
Eastbourne
TOP- strong if aging top two in Lawson and Kennett
MIDDLE - experience in Kerr and Newman and promise in Brennan/ Kemp
BOTTOM - another with one established and one promising rider
Edinburgh
TOP - Masters is a good signing, Worrall will back him at Armadale but not so sure away.
MIDDLE - Pickering and two newbies of whom a lot is expected
BOTTOM - fairly strong and experiences in Sargeant and Lawson
Glasgow
TOP - Cook leads the way and it is to be hoped Wells will refind his 2018 scoring to back him up
MIDDLE - can Ostergaard, Sedgmen and Nicol improve? Could go either way. Nicol and Ostergaard had spells at reserve in 2019 boosting their figures
BOTTOM - Jensen and Bailey look our strongest pairing in a few years, better than quite a few other teams but could struggle at some away tracks
Kent
TOP - fair pairing in Nicholls and Covatti
MIDDLE - Heeps and Starke complete a strong top four but nothing much thereafter. Does this sound familiar
BOTTOM - two NL reserves and bottom three will struggle on the road
