With teams having raced a hugely disparate number of meetings here's a form guide as of last night Leicester +11 Glasgow +3 Somerset +2 Sheffield +2 Berwick +1 No other sides are in the + category.
Leicester have had no fewer than 5 away meetings, half a seasons worth and are the ones to catch right now. However we've a packed four weeks coming up so let's hope we're in the groove, starting at Armadale on Friday.

With our big win (49 - 41, a four pointer) at Birmingham tonight. things are looking far closer as we catch up on our away meetings. We have three away meetings in hand on Leicester, with our next one at Newcastle when we are likely to be without Craig who may well be in the Speedway of Nations final in Russia that weekend. Leicester + 12 Glasgow + 10 Somerset + 2 Berwick + 1 Redcar who look to have beefed up are may be the side to watch but they have a lot to do.

This makes happy reading this morning! Glasgow +17 Leicester +12 Redcar +4 Somerset +3 Berwick +1
Leicester only have two away meetings left - at Birmingham and Scunthorpe, so another away win and we're untouchable.

No real change but Berwick are no longer in + territory. It would be a major surprise if the top four aren't in the play offs
Glasgow +17 Leicester +12 Redcar +8 Somerset +6

We took a point at Leicester and Leicester closed the gap with their four points following their big 55-35 win at Birmingham. Glasgow +18 Leicester +16 Redcar +8 Somerset +6
Leicester conclude their fixtures by the end of the month with a home to Somerset and an away at Scunthorpe so we'll know what target we need to top them by the time we go to Berwick. Both sides have riders coming back from injury. Richie Worrall for the Lions and Paul Starke for us. While Paul's return will undoubtedly strengthen us, Richies may prove more problematic for the Lions.

Argh! Leicester's win at Scunthorpe tonight puts them above us on +20 meaning we need to take two away points and have a better race points difference to top them OR three away points to be sure.... and we need to win our four remaining home meetings too. Aways are at Berwick and Redcar. Let's do it.

Double Argh! Last night's capitulation means we drop down to +15 and, while it is arithmetically still possible to catch Leicester, winning the league is realistically over.
MBA has been a horrible signing and has earned very few of his points by beating an opponent who has actually finished a race. It's now too late to replace him so it's to be hoped he shows up at Redcar with a point to prove ...and that he proves it.
We really need to get Paul back ASAP and get the team balanced again , even if this means Sam won't get a proper average and will be on 5.00 next year. We need to build up some momentum going into the play offs.

Agreed. Were there no alternatives to Andersen ? Sarj, if you look at his past, tends to come good late on ( I know he can be dross earlier) and now looks the better bet. Paul is such a big loss and I hope he returns pronto. There is now a vulnerability about this team at home. We scraped past Eastbourne and Leicester and the three remaining visitors will see a chance of wins. And if Cook gets suspended...

Definitely need momentum especially at home after 4 weeks between meetings however Cook's hearing has still to come to the fore and we dont actually know if Starkey's injuries have healed. Next weekend is critical, we just cant slip up again.
Unfortunately MBA has proved worse than Sarjeant which is quite a feat, even if we could find him an injury we would be no better off having the reserves covering 3 of his heats.

He likes a bit of dirt to ride on and would've been on his arse most of his heats yesterday on that track. Too right we are vulnerable, especially the bottom four. Whats the betting the away leg of our first play off is ultra slick off the back of this. We now need to play to our strengths whatever they are.

Worringly five riders scored a total of 14 .At home !. Our reserves in their last four meetings have totalled 6, 1, 4, 4. Again shows the folly of not having a Lambert or Greaves down there. I note also Sheffield lost by two at Eastbourne with Nicol scoring 17....from reserve !!!
