tigersplus.co.uk/membership-benefitstigersplus.co.uk/about-usThe Tigers Plus Scheme has been announced and the main points are - it's an organisation independent of the promotion and will be transparent - the revenue raised will be spent on specific items - two classes of membership- adult £12.50 a month; family £20.00 a month Benefits - 10% off all purchases in the Tigers shop and food outlets - reduction in car parking charges - a signed rider pits plate per member - fast track entry - watch three races on the centre green - two meetings in the premium seats - exclusive winter events. I certainly thought a monthly subscription was the way to go back in tbe Fighting Fund days circa 2013 when 30K seemed to be the difference between staying open and closing. It would need 200 adult members to generate 30k but not so sure that 30K woukd knock a big hole in some of our recent losses. Does reducing a loss of say 150k to 120k make any difference? While it would be good to make a contribution to the club, I'd be happier to know that the club is going to be more prudent in its future expenditure. Apparently we bought the riders hiking boots for their home up Ben Lomond. Things like that really are a waste. The introduction mentions tyre and insurance costs but aren't they riders costs rather than the promotions? I'd have thought the promotion should be charging these on to the riders, particularly as you would expect them to be tax deductible for the riders. Will there be enough rider pit plates to give 100 members one each - only if you get new ones every week! Seven riders and 15 meetings = 105.Sounds expensive too. Fast track entry - don't season ticket holders and Ticket Arena purchasers already have this, and will there need to be a special window for Tigers Plus or at least a separate steward to direct them to the front of the queue - as per airlines Will the 10% reduction be programmed into the computerised shop/bar receipts and will the membership card need to be scanned. Will entry to the Winter Events really be limited to Tiger Plus menbers or will they be allowed guests. Some of the benefits seem generous, possibly unnecessarily so. Others are already available to season ticket holders. I'd be happy to subscribe for items specified in advance in the knowledge the promotion is being more financially prudent than in the past. What do you guys think?

Tell you what I think Doug. The club asked for help and new ideas during the Winter a group of supporters came forward with their own mindful of the incredible financial assistance that Edinburgh fans generate for their club.
After putting in a lot of effort to get it off the ground on the night that they launch a habitual complainer, naysayer and nit picker rushes to sabotage it by immediately posting on Facebook with his own negative slant.
Brilliant, just what they needed.

What we need is the promotion taking a far more prudent and realistic approach to costs. Thats what we need. Edinburgh run a far tighter ship and still run at a loss but their Fans Trust bridges the gap and keeps them going. Even if our scheme managed to generate 30K - and thats a big ask - we're still likely to be deep in the red and really no further forward.

Having read your posts here and Facebook on TigersPLUS, I feel compelled, and suitably justified, in setting the record straight on this new offering.
The TigersPLUS Facebook post advises "related enquiries can be addressed to TigersPLUS" you have chosen to go public on that post, and here, and clearly that action leaves open to interpretation that you are deliberately trying to mislead those very fans we are appealing to. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, as I'm sure you don't want people thinking this, I will provide clarity for all.
Quite simply there are a few points you have either failed to grasp, or are deliberately ignoring in an attempt to mislead others.
The main point you have not grasped, or for personal agenda reasons have deliberately ignored, is that TigersPLUS is INDEPENDENT of Glasgow Tigers and its purpose is to provide a vehicle for fans to contribute to running costs in 2019 and beyond. It was also formed and is run by VOLUNTEERS.
It has not been formed to cover running costs of the past - which you have constantly referred to. Have you not realised this point or are you deliberately ignoring it in an attempt to further a cause?
The costs contributed to are decided by TigersPLUS committee. We have said we will be transparent - and WE WILL BE.
Secondly, all your posts on TigersPLUS (that I've seen) have been of a cynical nature and call into question decisions made in the past. What you are not acknowledging in your posts is that TigersPLUS committee were not involved in those decisions. Yet you choose to use the past actions of other people as a basis for judging those running TigersPLUS and its future actions.I wonder why? Blurred lines to suit an agenda?
Having spoken last night to all of them, I know that all TigersPLUS committee members, find it deeply offensive and misleading that you are judging their INTEGRITY and ABILITY on past actions of other people! They have the right to be judged on what they do, not by what someone else has done. (For the record, that in no way reflects TigersPLUS Committee opinions of, nor the ability of, the others referred to.)
TigersPLUS is run by genuinely, well intentioned people and have worked many hours to put this together. Collectively they have many years experience in the business world. Yet in one Facebook post and above you have deliberately, or through insufficient thought, tried to undermine them and what they are doing.
Last Winter, the Club asked fans to step forward with any ideas and/or to volunteer to assist with the implementation/running of those ideas. A meeting was held and 29 people attended - I can't recall seeing you there, nor at any of the subsequent 3 meetings I've attended.
Of course, you might not have been available those dates, didn't have any ideas or are not prepared to help out. I'll stand corrected on any point.
This takes me to my next point, one which the manner of your original post above reminds me.
I can recall past criticism of the journalistic style of Tigers output. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it eluded to it being similar to the less reliable British newspaper(s).
Funny and ironic you should say that.
I will now answer some of some of your points above to ensure we have no misinformation nor, dare I say, scaremongering - just like said newspapers. I'm sure we're in agreement it's better to have the facts before making claims in public. Heavens forbid anyone would do that!
Again this is fully justified in the interests of clarity for our fans. Again, all these points could easily have been addressed by using the enquire process offered to you on Facebook.
Insurance- TigersPLUS website clearly states "one race meeting ... Insurance". Yet you refer to "rider insurance". There is more insurance associated with a meeting than rider insurance.
Tyres - TigersPLUS are choosing to be involved in this. We knew from speaking to fans this is an area they are happy to contribute to. Did you know that? Why shouldn't TigersPLUS do so? They are INDEPENDENT to make their own decisions after all.
Riders Pits Plates - Your comment puzzles me. Quite simply TigersPLUS will have a riders pit plate of the Member's choice made for them. It's no different to having scarfs, mugs, programme boards, etc produced. The point is only TigersPLUS Member's will receive this benefit. A unique keepsake. Or was that point lost, overlooked or the sentimental value not on the radar?
Fast Track Entry - Not everyone has a season ticket. A need for separate arrangements - of course there will and this has been discussed.
10% discount - see Fast Track Entry above. Do you seriously think we did not discuss logistics?!!!! Seriously!
Why is it I suspect you will be itching to to go public when there's one hiccup with either of the last two points? Very few new initiatives run smoothly at first - on your marks!
What is most important out of all of this is that many VOLUNTEERS have pulled together over the winter to enhance supporters experience at Ashfield this season. Not forgetting the many VOLUNTEERS that have given up much personal weekend/week time - for some, time away from their families - so that those attending Ashfield can enjoy a better experience - people like you!
We don't look for thanks - though we get it from many. Others choose to come to Ashfield, receive the benefit of others' efforts and then spend their time looking for faults. I suppose that's the way of the World, it takes all types.
"TigersPLUS" PLUS stands for POSITIVE, LOYAL, UNITED in SPEEDWAY.
Food for thought?
Instead of negative Facebook and Forum posts, why not join the VOLUNTEERS who try to enhance your speedway experience? At the very least, you might gain a deeper and more factual understanding of all that's involved and know how it feels to give of your best and then read misleading, ill-informed counterproductive Facebook posts.

War and Peace doesn't get a look in! I'm not sure what I've done to get this lecture on the committee. I've no idea who they are and have not made any comment on either their integrity or ability. My second line states quite clearly the organisation is independent of the promotion - possibly you missed this. The write up doesn't make it clear that it's non rider insurance and that the pits plates are replicas rather than the actual ones used.
It continues to baffle me that we have about the best crowd numbers in the league, pay no rent but run up huge losses every year, losses that even the most successful Plus scheme would only knock a small hole in. I really believe the promotion, and indeed the Championship, needs to take a far more prudent financial approach.
As to the focus group meeting, I never saw anything about this and wasn't invited to it. When the news of our financial state broke in November, I filled in the volunteers form but have yet to have any reply.

Coombes. I find your posts offer constructive criticism and raise valid points where necessary. I've noticed over the years that (especially on FB) the pack mentality will out and any sort of valid points raised are seen as an attack. Not for me they're not.

I would have to agree with coombes on the point of never hearing about these meetimgs that were held, I was told by someone, who was not at any of the meeting, that one had been held.
