With the new season bearing down on us at a rate of knots, what are our hopes for this year. While cup and league success would be good I really hope for
- Good racing
Hopefully the new track shape has now bedded in and we can enjoy some fine racing.
- Decent Weather
Nothing undermines a season more than poor weather. While pre emptive postponements have reduced the number of rain affected meetings they lead to fans second guessing whether a meeting will be off based on the forecast. I think we've made the right call in going for a later start this year. It's certainly cold right now
- Speedy Meetings
Allied to a cold night, a protracted meeting can kill off interest in floating fans. Tractor racing is not a spectator sport. It's disappointing that our ticketing information is now giving 9.30 as a likely finish time. Really we should be able to run 15 heats in less than two hours.
- Young Developing Rider
Hopefully Kyle will fill this bill. It's been a few years since we've had a youngster who has a good season.
- A Test Match
The GB v Australia test was the highlight of last year and hopefully with the Allied sponsorship we'll be in line for another one this year
- A Promoters Page in the Programme
Hopefully this year! We've missed the promotional input that all other programmes have. A ghost written team managers page doesn't go near filling this gap.
- An Away Win at Armadale
Always appreciated!
- Full Strength Teams
Hopefully no teams turning up with NL guests. Workington and Lakeside meetings suffered from this dilution last year.
Better Crowds
- Enough to banish our financial fears. A good crowd for our first meeting and a smartly run meeting to get us off to a good start. Lets hope so.
