Hope Im wrong, but have we left the Play Offs too late? The BBC weather forecast is light rain for just about all of next week. It's not hugely accurate so let's hope it's wrong -again! But either fixture being rained off could really cause problems for ourselves and Peterborough and Lakeside too.

Forecast probably looking worse now. Would expect if Friday succumbs we are looking at Sunday afternoon and then every night thereafter.

Taking from Glasgow Tigers Facebook page
FIXTURE UPDATE: Given the weather warning that is in place for tomorrow, it’s highly likely that our play-off fixture will be postponed.
If this is the case, the home fixture will take place at 13:30 on Sunday. Should our away fixture against Workington on Saturday also be cancelled, which again looks likely due to the weather, our Sunday fixture will form part of a doubleheader that day, with the return fixture taking place at 19:30 at Derwent Park.
We will keep you posted.

Well done to the promotions for being so proactive and having a Plan B.

And a cracking double header it was too. I really enjoyed yesterday at Ashfield. The track was in remarkably good condition and had the right amount of dirt on it and the racing was excellent, none more so than Claus win in heat 12. May be we should soak the track more often! So close, if Chris's bike had just lasted another 50 yards....
While it was disappointing to lose out on aggregate, it is good that Tigers fans were supportive and appreciative in their comments on Facebook and a pity Cami Brown rather sulkily seemed to blame the defeat on refereeing. Perhaps he should reflect on not using Ricky Wells in heat 15 at Ashfield.
With the Lakeside v Peterborough second leg being rained off, the semis won't be concluded until next weekend and, while the final may well be slotted in on the last weekend in October, there is a real possibility that another final may have to be run in November. Anyway that no longer concerns us.

Yes, enjoyed that in the sun which was so hot I had to move under the cover. Thats what I get for wearing a Tigers anorak. We had some bad luck as did Comets who had four retirals. We missed Craig, they missed Dan. Dunno what Brown is on about as Sarj was clearly at fault in H1 and I was surprised at Camptons x in H8 albeit I was at a bad angle to judge.

Campton took Stewarts front wheel out right in front of me in Heat 8. Defo the right decision although how referees see these things is another question.. What was going on with Ricky Wells and Nikolia Klindt, Kindt wins then Wells gives him the finger, bumps into him then removes Klindts cut out at the pit gates? ? Good meeting to end whats been a very enjoyable season on a vastly improved track.

The track is much improved and been much more entertaining this year but i would qualify that and say only for night time racing. The track is damper, retains the moisture much better and is much more grippy, making passing easier. Its also much more exciting under floodlights. The afternoon meetings have been poor, yesterday being an exception, where the track is dried out and rides totally different to the evening, with few if any passes.
The missing ingredient remains the riders. Made the playoffs for the last four years but no cigar. The merits, or lack of, of this years team have been well debated. A more informed approach to team building and individual riders is required. We know what hasnt worked, no need to go back there, and no more guarantees per meeting, they motivate to sign the contract not to score points.
A little bit of continuity from those who served us well during the season may go some way to helping us next year. Lewis Kerr mentioned in his programme notes he'd like to be considered for a team place next year. I'd grant it!. Cook seems to have taken a shine to us, or is it just we pay well, however i would also take him back if Belle Vue remain in the other league. To accomodate his average i would ask Jack Thomas back as i think he would benefit from a second season. Vissing and Starke i would also though Starke is apparently scunnered with the travel. That would leave around 9.5 for the remaining two riders. All of course if the points limit remains.

Yes, saw Starke quoted as saying the travel was doing his head in and with Vissing for some strange reason being domiciled in Edinburgh he might well be worth keeping. I actually quite like him as he gets tore in. Will do an analysis later but reckon him and Statke notched up a fair number of 5-1s.

I agree with the comments about continuity but having only 9.5 left doesn't give too many options for a strong reserve - an assessed 5.20 rider leaves about 4.30 which doesn't get you much more than James Sargeant! Sadly I don't think we can have both Claus and Lewis as we need to beef up the senior reserve spot. We need a more long term perspective too with young riders who will progress not a team largely full of experienced guys who have reached their limit- a bit like the 2018 side. However all this may prove academic as the leagues and points limit may well be quite different next year.
