Having topped the league, Peterborough now have the pick of their semi final opponents - ourselves, Lakeside or Workington. So who will they go for?
Lakeside - having beaten the Hammers at Rye House last night, picking them has certain attractions, although they are already due to meet them home and away in the KO Cup and the League Cup on the next two weekends. Meeting on the fourth weekend in a row is probably not a great idea commercially as fans will get sick of the same teams. Workington - having suffered a big defeat there on Friday they might not relish another trip to Cumbria. Tigers - possibly it's us by elimination rather than direct choice. They didn't do too badly when they were at Ashfield earlier in the season. No doubt Peterborough will want the second leg and their first free date seems to be Friday 5th October, with the first leg possibly at Ashfield the Friday before.
It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

That would leave us with Workington who murdered us in the League Cup in that fateful meeting and would have done better at Ashfield in the league had they not tracked an NL reserve. However we did comparatively well at Derwent Park and you would fancy Craig to go well there!

There are no easy meetings regardless. There are a lot of injuries about so guests will play a crucial role. PB may choose Lakeside as it minimises their travel and they put them to the sword last night. Hopefully we find out the fixtures soon, its September weekend next week.

Our weekends are looking problematic with Craig being involved in GPs on 22 September and 6 October while Chris has the Long Track Final on 30 September, which might make Friday 28th a bit tight if he needs/wants to be at practice the day before. May be we'll go for another midweek date. Tuesdays have been pretty lucky of late and may be we shoukd ride this streak.

Peterborough report that they got their lowest crowd of the season last week when they raced Lakeside.... and they've got them again tonight and next Sunday too! They've vowed to get their meetings "over as quickly as possible" and told their fans to "bring your blankets". Happy days!
