Yes, my recollection of him was a trier ( or charger, as they seem to call them now) and a bit of a fence scraper. Might become a favourite like Leggy Powell.

Thoughts on our sixth signings Underwhelmed but best of luck to Luke and I will support him big time. Experienced moto cross rider, possibly in the Danny Ayres, Joey Ringwood mould. Had a couple of good rides for us a couple of years back but missed all of last year due to a non Speedway injury. We've got to hope the gamble pays off. Experienced moto cross rider, possibly in the Danny Ayres, Joey Ringwood, CRAIG COOK, RICHARD LAWSON, THE WORRALL TWINS, TAI WOFFENDEN, JOHN LOUIS etc. Some of them turned out o.k. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in sport.

Agree with you about supporting Luke, and indeed Joe too but am concerned that we seem to be running a Job Experience scheme for reserves over the last couple of years. Each time we've taken the "pain" of tracking a newbie without ever getting the benefit the following year. Ayres, Garcia, Smith, Perry and Thomas have all been one year wonders. With Joe seemingly a Sheffield asset it woukd be no surprise if he was recalled for 2020 should he benefit by his e experience next year. Not sure why we had to bring them both up for the videos. Remote filming for Paul and Rasmus seemed to be considered ok so why not for them too? Another cavalier approach to unnecessary expenditure.

To be fair Coombes, Smith, Perry and Ayres have gone on to do nothing. Danny Ayres had a brief flirt with the big league in 2016 but has returned to his natural habitat of the NL. Garcia is the one that got away, he has resilience, work ethic and the desire to improve and both he and us would have benefitted from his return IMO. Instead we continue to pursue the berated top heavy structure. However I agree we should be looking to reserves and giving them the chance to ride for us for back to back seasons should there be progress in it.

Ayres had an average of over five and a half for Redcar the year after leaving Ashfield and we could have done with that kind of improver. However he's certainly not done much since. Smith and Perry highlight how difficult it is to pick a decent reserve from the "bargain basement" and it's a downside of the top heavy approach that you have to take whoever will fit the numbers left. We've got to stop "importing" reserves from afar. It will never work for us. If they show any promise after one season, they then get a berth far nearer their home -Jack Thomas bei g a case in point.

Some number trawling on Rasmus Jensen. 2018 at Ashfield he scored 8+2 : 8+2 : 12 For those who are obsessed by it he scored 7+1 ; 4+1 : 8 @ Armadale
In semis and finals of Shield, Cup and Play offs Rasmus, Bach and Klindt rode in all 11 meetings. Rasmus totalled 120 points , Klindt102 and Bach 74. Campton's figures would be skewed by riding at reserve but I can work them out if you like. Forza Rasmus! Think he will be our best Dane ever. Remember Jesper Olsen wasnot at his peak as a Tiger and as for Bager, Anderson, Thomsen and the two Juuls....forget it.

Going back in time Preben Rosenkilde, Karl Kornelliussen and later Tim Korneliussen all plumbed different depths of mediocrity in very brief times in our colours. If Rasmus is half as eexciting as Jesper then we've got a good one.

Redcar have Nathan Greaves and Jack Smith as reserves for next year. How I envy them. Anyone remember Jim Bowen on "Bullseye" and his catch phrase -"Let's see what you could have won" !!

Well now Redcar reserves are Nathan Greaves and Jack Smith. Now watch Joe and big Luke gobble them up in H2.

Not a lot happening right now, but a few headlines from the recent Cami Brown interview.
As team manager it's natural that he expects the team to up their averages, although he did accept it was unlikely for Craig Cook. With all/most of the leagues top liners signed up for next year, things won't be too different for him. He expects Claus to up his average on the back of an improvement in away form. Not sure thats likely if he is riding at 5 rather than 3. He'll be in heat13 (1&5 v 1&5) rather than heat 12 (3&7 v 3&7) so could easily end up more than a point down on the back of this.
Track work on bends 1&2 is being delayed by the weather. Hope they are also going to sort out the entry to turn three which was often down to the base after just a couple of heats.
A four day Boot Camp in February. Not sure this is necessary. How much nutritional advice do you need and didn't most of the guys get it last year anyway.
Robert did the interview and has a natural relaxed style. Is his role seems to be being extended to include the General Manager function or is Ian Beattie still part of the management structure?
Hoping to have weekly fixtures although there seemed little recognition that it's down to the club to organise things.

Cami certainly had/has his critics but I thought he came across well and honestly assessed his managerial performance so far. I hope he makes a success of it!

You live and learn. I had no idea that Hibee Alex Cropley had dabbled in cycle speedway.
